Do you or your colleagues do Problem Based/Design Thinking, STEM with student teams? (or any form of humans working with humans?) , then I HIGHLY recommend stressing the importance of psychological safety and trust. Don't throw your students into stressful team situations without strategies to develop common understanding, create dialogue, decision making protocols, conflict resolution protocols, group norms, agendas, etc etc etc. Start with safety and trust, then provide multiple opportunities for repetition and practice. When we had parents participate in a mini version to show them what thier children do, many of them said it was like thier MBA. Yepp!
