And at X-Chem, we're always exploring new frontiers. Our latest publication in American Chemical Society's Journal of Medicinal Chemistry showcases how our platform identified a compound that was developed to a novel, potent inhibitor against SARS-CoV-2's main protease. Key highlights: - Discovered a non-covalent Mpro inhibitor with a unique binding mode - Developed a macrocyclization strategy that significantly improved antiviral activity - Demonstrated exceptional potency against nirmatrelvir-resistant variants - Showed potential pan-coronavirus activity This work underscores our commitment to addressing critical medical challenges through partnerships and innovative drug discovery approaches. By combining rational design with our advanced discovery technologies, we're creating small molecules that will improve human health. When I started my scientific career microarrays were all the rage - "so much data"; "game changer" etc etc. Then sequencing came along and it added the problems of computational power, storage capacity etc. In recent years we've now gone to the resolution of sequencing the transcriptome of a single cell with sometimes tens of thousands of cells in a single experiment. "What can we do to make this even more complex?". "Lets add a spatial component to compound all the issues!". If dealing with spatial or single cell data and the complexities around computational resource and how to interpret results has tipped you over the edge - get in touch!

Unlike classic experiment design approaches, on-the-fly optimal experimental design increases the amount of information derived from process runs by exploring the temporal domain.   Running a high-throughput bioreactor platform is challenging, but running it for a perfusion mammalian cell culture process is even more difficult. Using a digital twin to support the planning and operation of the runs increases the insight into the process evolution and the information derived from each reactor run, as shown in the latest publication "Self-Driving Development of Perfusion Processes for Monoclonal Antibody Production". The core component of the digital twin is the predictive hybrid model that renders what-if analysis, as well as the exploration of meaningful unseen process regions.
