Congratulations to TotalEnergies on the acquisition of the Big Sky Solar project from RES. A global leader in renewable energy, TotalEnergies is advancing its mission to become one of the top five renewable electricity producers by 2030, and Alberta is part of that journey. As part of a series of international acquisitions, TotalEnergies has now closed the acquisition of Big Sky Solar, a 184 MW facility developed by RES, located near Acadia Valley, Alberta. The project will power over 42,000 homes and support clean energy jobs in rural Alberta. In addition, TotalEnergies has signed agreements with RES to acquire wind and solar projects under development in Alberta, adding over 800 MW of future renewable capacity to the province. Alberta’s supportive investment climate makes it a strategic location for energy developments.
