In March 2024, a consortium of seven media organisations and a media-focused technology provider launched the Taktak solution project, with the objective of developing an innovative donation solution, supported by the European Commission. The initiative addresses a fundamental challenge facing modern journalism: The need to identify sustainable revenue sources in the context of evolving consumption patterns and the adverse circumstances faced by freelance journalists. We are 10 days away from Expunge Colorado's 7th annual record sealing clinic! It has been 7 years of putting on a record sealing event in Denver, free to the community, where we literally change people's lives for the better. Expunge Colorado's mission is to enable people to move forward from their criminal records. We do this through our 3 pillars of service: education, advocacy and offering pro bono record sealing services. What's different about this year compared to the other years is for the first time our application for clinic opened and closed within 24 hours. Our capacity was reached in 24 hours! In 72 hours, we had 100+ people on a waitlist to be notified for the next record sealing event in 2025. This proves that our pro bono legal services for petition-based record sealing is at an all-time high. Expunge Colorado provides an essential service to people who are in need of jobs, housing and a chance to move forward with dignity from their past. We cannot do this work without the help of sponsors and donors. If you believe in criminal justice reform, reparative justice, and social equity and are in a position to donate, please consider our local 501c3 nonprofit.
