But when she was caught in 1817, she refused to beg for mercy, instead, she used her final moments to denounce tyranny and call for freedom. -She worked as a spy, passing crucial intelligence to revolutionaries. -She helped arm and recruit rebels, playing a key role in the fight for independence. -She faced execution with defiance, shouting for Colombia’s freedom as she was led to her death.
