The iMARS project has come to the end. It is an H2020 project with the participation of #INCM (INCM Imprensa Nacional - Casa da Moeda) aiming at building a more secure ecossytem for ID documents, such as passports. I coordinated the INCM participation and in this interview I talk about the importance of having (much more) secure enrolment processes to guarantee that the emission of ID documents is more resillient to attacks. I am also talking about the technologies developed by INCM in the scope of iMARS project. Using these technologies passports are much more resistant to attacks. This is a teaser for the final conference of the project taking place in Brussels, next week, in the 21st of November. There are a few seats available. Check out the first quantitative Polarized Light Micrograph of an electropolished industrial plate. A 2.3 cm sq. c-axis image was obtained from the 3”×5” Ti64 plate mounted in the CrystalView sample holder.  CrystalView can accommodate large samples or parts thanks to its horizontal configuration and long working distance. CrystalView offers the fastest imaging – 15 minutes including processing – over 2.3 cm sq. instant field-of-view without cutting the part. CrystalView enables true high-throughput and less destructive testing for large or irregular parts and is more tolerant of less-polished surfaces than any other microscope on the market. This makes CrystalView a unique tool for additive manufacturing.
