𝗜’𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲! This week, I quietly celebrated the 3rd anniversary of my company, CarpeLux Coaching, LLC. In the context and fallout of last week’s election, it felt strange—even a bit inappropriate—to celebrate anything at all. But taking a moment to recognize and reflect on this journey still feels important...or perhaps is 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵. Here's my brief reflection... 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜’𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳: 🙌🏽 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚– Even as a solopreneur, I'm blessed to be surrounded by talented, driven colleagues who are all aligned in their commitment to impact and purpose in the DEIB space. I've developed connections with mentors and colleagues who lift each other up and want each other to succeed. 🙌🏽 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒔 – It's been an honor to witness clients transform and realize their full potential, knowing that I played a part in guiding them there. This is at the core of why I'm doing this work and I whole-heartedly love it. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: 🚧 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚. Navigating self-doubt, being a team of one as life happens, finding the niche and messaging that feels right for me—every small step, forward, back or sideways, is part of the process. 🚧𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕. I've learned that it takes constant intention to avoid burnout while staying committed to the purpose. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿: 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆-𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑩𝑰𝑷𝑶𝑪 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔 are in the works, and I can’t wait to bring them to you. 2 weeks ago, JMARK had its annual Holiday Party. While the celebrations and connections were great, what stood out was something that our Product Manager, Howard Trumbull, said: "Thank you to everyone who trusted us enough to let us know when we needed to do better." One of the most important elements of a company’s culture is its willingness to have what we call ‘Courageous Conversations.’ But to do that, you first need to create the environment and psychological safety for your team to feel comfortable to engage with discomfort. It’s not only something we practice internally, but with our clients, too. In fact, it’s largely the reason we were able to mend our relationship with a crucial client in the healthcare industry 2 years ago. All this is to say: ✅ Love the Truth, even when you don’t like it. ✅ Own your mistakes and outline your next step. ✅ Do what you say you’ll do when you say you’ll do it. ✅ Lead with compassion and empathy in your pursuit of accountability. — When our team feels safe enough to be unapologetically honest, we all grow stronger together. It gives us the courage to face hard truths, make things right, and become better—for our people, our clients, and ourselves.

🎊 One Year Anniversary at Morrison: Time flies when you’re scaling operations and slaying deadlines. Reflecting on my first year at MORRISON has been a wild ride of personal growth, teamwork, and just a little bit of imposter syndrome (let’s be honest—sometimes A LOT). From my first solo client call to submitting DOE proposals, I've learned what it means to grow, adapt, and excel under pressure. Taking on new challenges, learning from my incredible team, and asking, “How can this be better?” has defined my journey. (Cue the eye-rolls from the team 😅). Turns out, my Working Genius of Wonder and Discernment was spot-on: an innate drive to improve, streamline, and find the right solutions to move projects forward. 🚀 Highlights of My Year: 🎯 Secured $23MM in grants with an 81% success rate—what a journey! 🤝 Supported my teammates through tight deadlines, crazy schedules, and some intense team bonding experiences. 💡 Launched new processes and updated internal systems, all while navigating the steep learning curve of grant writing. 📝 Conquered major grants like ERME, DOE, and VAPG, sometimes even while balancing personal milestones (like getting married and buying a house!). 🤝 Embraced our culture of support, encouragement, and humility. I’m so grateful to my team for inspiring continuous improvement, creativity, and always bringing their A-game. Together, we've faced challenges, shared many laughs (and maybe a few tears), and transformed ideas into reality. Here's to many more wins, learning experiences, and making the world a better place through our work at Morrison! 🥂✨
