Updates

  • Proper mentoring is so under utilised in businesses but in our experience it is one of the most powerful tools to boost employee engagement and development. So often mentoring is used too late, maybe to placate a disgruntled employee. The mentoring can then actually result in talented people realising they are better off outside a business. Mentoring is a low cost but highly effective way of developing staff at all grades if implemented correctly and has benefits for mentors as well as mentees. Join us in June to explore what mentoring really is (and what it’s not) and how to get the best from mentoring your staff. https://lnkd.in/epUiUwtz

  • April is Stress Awareness Month, an annual event observed to raise awareness about the causes and effects of stress, promoting strategies for managing it and supporting mental well-being. Stress Awareness Month aims to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for stress, encouraging individuals to prioritize their mental health and well-being. The month encourages self-reflection, identifying personal stressors, and exploring healthy coping mechanisms. Join us for a webinar at the end of the month to learn more about stress, how to manage it and how to implement stress risk assessments in the workplace. https://lnkd.in/eB7dAbfn

  • Julie will be leading on our first webinar in a series of four, This month we begin with Stress Awareness as part of Stress Awareness month in April.

Becky Lodge BA (Hons) FRSA I have finally got round to reading your book that I picked up at the #IWD event in Portsmouth last month. Despite it being published in 2018, it's still very relevant in this post covid era. I will certainly be taking a few things away to apply during our ongoing start up journey at hygge associates. Looking forward to having a catch up over that coffee.

After being a finalist in the mentor category, at the Women in Construction and Engineering Awards in 2023, I’m very proud to have been selected as a Judge for this years event. I’m looking forward to meeting all the candidates towards the end of April and hearing about their inspiring career journey. I expect it will be a tough job to select the winner in amongst some very impressive submissions.

The session is intended primarily for business leaders in SMEs and will arm them with the knowledge to develop their own mentoring scheme and gain the benefits that mentoring can bring to their business and staff. An interesting morning for hygge associates at a Hampshire Chamber of Commerce networking event at The Gurkha Museum Trust in Winchester. It was great to learn about the Gurkhas and the exciting plans for the museum in the form of Project Kaida. Really useful to meet lots of other local business leaders, give our elevator pitch and swap details. Good to know business cards are still a thing alongside LinkedIn QR codes for when the tech doesn't quite work! A special mention to the charities etc that were present: Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Wessex Cancer Support The Brickworks Museum - Bursledon Safe New Futures YMCA Fairthorne Group Maggie's in Southampton https://lnkd.in/eXiUdQDG
