The monthly workshops and being paired 1:1 with a mentor for the 2 year journey can be a real game changer in terms of building a network, practice interviewing/public speaking, seek internships and be career ready in the profession of their choice. And ANY is always looking for mentors willing to devote their time, experience and network to be paired 1:1 with a student through this journey. It’s a very personalized and tangible way to see the impact you can have on someone else’s life, education and career.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ace Institute of Management and International Development Institute (IDI), a leading training and capacity building provider, headquartered in Washington D.C. for collaboration on guest speaker sessions, internships, placements, live industry projects, research collaborations and networking opportunities for Ace students.

We are excited to announce that Pennsylvania Western University has secured a substantial three-year grant of $332,000 from the McElhattan Foundation. This funding will significantly enhance student internship experiences and address workforce needs in Clarion and Venango counties. 🌟 Thrilled to share my experience as a DOE Scholar supporting the Justice40 initiative! 🌟 As a rising junior double majoring in economics and mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, this summer has been incredibly rewarding. I have been working on creating a relational database of Justice40 data by integrating multiple datasets into an database, focused on ensuring that 40% of climate investment benefits reach disadvantaged communities. In addition to this, I've reached out to utility companies and public service commissions across the nation to gather data on utility shutoffs and arrearage information. This effort aligns with the EIA-EJE partnership to explore utility shutoff payback clauses. With many states having halted shutoffs during COVID-19, customers are now facing large bills. Our goal is to find data that shows the impact of these moratoria on disadvantaged communities. We’re exploring state energy offices, federal agencies, and university studies to understand this issue better. I’ve also been utilizing Microsoft Office to design and analyze documentation, presentations, and visualizations to support our reports. This internship has provided me with valuable skills in data analysis, statistical reasoning, database management, and technical communication. Weekly progress reports, mentor collaboration, and group meetings have been vital in developing my expertise in these areas. In addition, I've had the pleasure of meeting wonderful professionals and scholars who have offered invaluable advice on graduate school, career paths, and beyond. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my academic and professional goals. A huge thank you to my mentors Alvin Bates, PMP, Dr. Anjuli Jain Figueroa, and the fantastic team at EJE for their support and guidance. This summer Sterling College participated in a new model for the internship experience in partnership with UVM. Students participating in the program "worked with businesses and organizations supporting community resilience in the Northeast Kingdom that hadn’t previously hosted interns, and that had limited connection with UVM". Students stayed on the Sterling College Campus for an eight-week program that supported 12 students who immersed themselves in projects that focused on community resilience in the region.
