If you haven’t had a chance to give yet, there’s still time to join us. Remember, every single dollar counts, and together we can finish Giving Tuesday strong. Whether it’s $10, $20, $50, or $110, your gift ensures families receive the seeds, tools, training, and support they need for a better tomorrow. Let’s make the most of these final hours—together, we can still make a significant impact. #GivingTuesday #PlantingHope #SupportLanaoDelSur #BeTheChange

On our Raising Independent Kids FB group -- https://lnkd.in/e_URUrrf -- a mom asked how to make her clingy 7-year-old more independent. My favorite reply: "Give doses of independence without them realizing it. Do they like to cook? Let them build a menu and list and cook the dinner while you fold clothes in another room. Do they enjoy a treat from the gas station after school? If they know how to use a debit card/pay then let them go in alone and get their treat. Send them to find things on your shopping list at the grocery store a few aisles over. If they are old enough/mature enough, go get gas and leave them at home. It’s 10 minutes. Dont have a huge conversation about it just pop your head in let them know you are going to get gas and will be right back. Act confident. A lot of times it’s a confidence issue or they know you will do it, so why bother? Giving those micro exposures with a safety net builds that confidence. Don’t force if they resist but just keep trying." Join us at the FB group, or visit my homebase, LetGrow.org !

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 - 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁?? You know the quick and easy donors - just waiting to be asked... The problem is of course - they don't exist. And if they did, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have missed them. 🤣 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁: 1️⃣ Someone who thinks fundraising is transactional - So, they're really asking "can't YOU just find easy people to get money out of". 2️⃣ Someone who is desperate. The end of year target isn't looking too hot. So, low hanging fruit is code for, "I have no idea how we're going to reach this target, can't YOU just get some money in fast". 3️⃣ Someone who is expected to fundraise but doesn't want to. Born after 2000? Have children born after 2000? May be worthwhile to read: Here is a checklist for you :- - How many times you have opened the vehicle bonnet? How confident are you to figure out the basic trouble shooting if you have a breakdown on the road? - If the maid doesn’t turn up how many of you are familiar of at least making a coffee and toast? - How many of you believe in financial discipline and savings? - How many of you can find ways without the google map? - How many of can face it if something un-expected happens in your life? - You may be great in texting and social media, but how good are in making and fostering real life relations? List can be way longer. Yes, I am talking about 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦. No one is teaching this, parents are not allowing the children to face the heat and is making them grow in protected and tutored environments. Time to introspect, I feel, as a community we are doing injustice to our future generations. Charity begins at home, if each of us makes the changes in us, it will spread like wildfire. #futuregenerations #lifeskills #preparingforlife #responsibility #parenting #ashokcherian
