This was my final assignment for draping in the 6th semester. I filled a bodice with double-edge ruffles and sewed a pouf skirt with numerous irregular spiral flounces. Firstly, I created patterns for the skirt and bodice. Then, I proceeded to cut 72 flounces and panels for the skirt. Next, I made the ruffles and sewed them onto the bodice. For the skirt, I attached 4 flounces to each panel. In total, I used a maximum of 10 meters of calico for this assignment. Ok more coloring 😊… Starting with the eyes today. They are super creepy blank, Grogu is not dead. I love using watercolor for texture. It blends and mixes colors well. Especially when you have a good digital watercolor brush. With fabrics, I like to start with darker color and use the watercolor to layer on lighter textures and tones. “Chirp!” Here I wanted to try out what Donald Duck would look like as a songbird. Chirping instead of quacking, as a side effect. By the way, I have used a different line drawing technique here, only very roughly, it is not a final clean-up drawing, but I am happy with the result.
