In 2024, HUESKER Australia collaborated with Fulton Hogan projects team on a heavy-duty pavement at a freight facility in South Australia. The pavement was expected to support over 50,000 axle loads, exceeding 110 tonnes from container reach stackers over its design life. HaTelit C geogrid was integrated into the pavement to mitigate reflective cracking. By including HaTelit C, the client benefited from: - Reduced construction time and costs - Less material replacement - Extension of service life through effective mitigation of reflective cracking - Fast installation and strong bond between asphalt layers HaTelit C proved to be the optimal solution, extending the pavement's service life and delivering long-term performance. #HUESKER #EngineeringSolutions #Infrastructure #PavementDesign #ConstructionInnovation #HaTelit

While not the only major driver of industrial demand and continued market growth throughout Virginia, having an asset of the quality of the Port of Virginia and one that continues to receive significant private and public investment and support is a major differentiator for the Virginia industrial market.

When the Bridgeport Harbor Station went offline in 2021, it marked the end of Connecticut’s reliance on more expensive, polluting coal to generate electricity in our state. Many people driving by or living in the shadow of this “silent smokestack” have wondered, what comes next? This is a complex site still burdened by its industrial legacy, including PCBs, heavy metals, and other contamination that remain to be addressed. But it also has enormous value and potential, as an expansive coastal property in the heart of CT’s largest city. I’m proud that CT is advancing funding to catalyze cleanup and development of this site, to write an exciting next chapter for Bridgeport Harbor.

Today, 177 years ago, a carpenter,  James Wilson Marshall, by his name, reported the finding of gold at Coloma, California.  On the morning of January 24, 1848, Marshall was examining the channel below the mill when he noticed some shiny flecks. That discovery started the Californian Gold Rush which was a pivotal event with both positive and negative consequences. An Bord Pleanála have approved the Railway Order application to extend the electrified DART network from Hazelhatch & Celbridge to Heuston Station and the South city via Phoenix Park Tunnel. The project will quadruple customer capacity and will provide a greatly enhanced and more sustainable transport option for communities in Hazelhatch & Celbridge, Adamstown, Clondalkin & Fonthill, Parkwest & Cherry Orchard, Drumcondra and at a new station at Heuston West.
