Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, and throughout Suicide Prevention Month, we reflect on the importance of mental health within our Army family and beyond. Suicide prevention is deeply personal to us, as we strive to protect the well-being of our Soldiers, civilians, and communities. No one should ever face their struggles alone. Together, we can break the silence, promote open conversations, and remind everyone that help is always available. Your life matters, and you are never alone. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #SuicidePreventionMonth #YouAreNotAlone #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma

September is National Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month — In our four-part series we’re talking specifically about suicide in the Veteran community. Community-Based Support: The Role of Returning Veterans Project While the VA provides critical resources, community-based organizations like the Returning Veterans Project (RVP) play an equally important role in supporting Veterans. RVP offers free, confidential mental health and wellness services to Veterans, service members, and their families in Oregon and SW Washington. Our network of volunteer providers includes therapists, acupuncturists, naturopaths, and other professionals dedicated to serving the Veteran community. RVP understands that every Veteran’s journey is unique. By offering a range of services, we provide Veterans with the tools they need to navigate their mental health challenges. This personalized approach, combined with the trust and understanding that comes from working with Providers who truly care, makes RVP an invaluable resource in the fight against Veteran suicide. Encouraging Veterans to seek help from community organizations is crucial in ensuring that no one falls through the cracks! #suicideprevention #suicideawarness #suicidepreventionmonth #mentalhealth #youarenotalone #Veterans #servicemembers #militaryconnectedfamilies #oregon #soutwestwashington #rvp

At Objective Zero, we’re committed to making a real difference in the lives of veterans, service members, and their families. Over the coming weeks, our community members may receive an invitation to complete the Objective Zero Questionnaire. This needs assessment helps us better understand the challenges you face—whether they’re related to mental health, housing, or community access—and informs how we provide tailored resources and strategic support. Participation is voluntary, and your privacy is protected. By sharing your insights, you play a crucial role in shaping solutions that work for YOU and others like you. Let’s work together to remove barriers and build a stronger, healthier community. #MentalHealthMatters #VeteranCommunity #ObjectiveZero #YourVoiceMatters #OZApp

Veterans often seek help for mental health and alcohol issues only when they reach a crisis point. PTSD is the strongest predictor of help-seeking, but stigma, negative experiences, and lack of awareness remain key barriers. Addressing these challenges can improve access to care. #MentalHealth #Veterans #HelpSeeking
