Early Admission Types: Early Decision (ED): Binding commitment to attend if accepted. You can only apply to one school ED. Early Action (EA): Non-binding; you can apply to multiple schools and have until May 1 to decide. Pros: Higher Acceptance Rates: Some schools may accept a higher percentage of early applicants. Less Competition: Early applicants often face less competition since fewer students apply early. Early Notification: You receive admission decisions sooner, allowing for more time to prepare. Cons: Binding Commitment: With ED, you must attend if accepted, which can limit options. Pressure: The timeline may feel rushed, as you’ll need to complete your applications earlier. Limited Time for Grades: Your senior year grades may not be included, which can impact your application if you have a weaker fall semester.
