let's talk about biochar and vision 2050✍️🏞️🏞️🌧️ In the vision for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, biochar plays a crucial role as a carbon-negative technology. By converting biomass into a stable form of carbon and incorporating it into soil, biochar effectively removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and stores it for long periods. This not only helps to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas concentrations but also enhances soil health and fertility. Additionally, biochar offers environmental benefits such as remediation of contaminated soils and reduction of nutrient runoff into water bodies. As we strive to transition to a more sustainable future, biochar presents a scalable and cost-effective solution that aligns with the goals of both climate action and environmental conservation. By integrating biochar technology into agricultural practices and land management strategies, we can make significant strides towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 while simultaneously safeguarding our environment for future generations..... biochar the future 💪🏞️🌧️

🔥 Riberalta Expansion: Doubling Our Biochar Production & Carbon Removal Efforts by 2025! 🌍 Exciting news from Exomad Green! 🚀 Our Riberalta biochar facility, operational and certified since late 2024, is already making a massive impact—sequestering 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year with three production lines. But we’re just getting started! By mid 2025, we aim to double production to six lines, increasing our capacity to sequestering 120,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Meanwhile, our Concepción facility is also expanding, reinforcing our mission to scale high-quality carbon removal and further the adoption of biochar as a key climate solution. 🌱 We believe in biochar’s incredible potential—not just for permanent carbon sequestration, but also for its ability to enhance soil health and contribute to sustainable agriculture. As biochar continues to gain recognition as a powerful tool for carbon removal, we are committed to leading the way in large-scale production and proving its long-term impact. 🌱 Both Riberalta and Concepción are expanding, strengthening our commitment to climate action, soil restoration, and sustainable biochar solutions. As we scale up production in both facilities, we are taking bold steps toward advancing large-scale, permanent carbon sequestration and maximizing our impact on a sustainable future. Stay tuned as we continue pushing boundaries and setting new standards for sustainability! ♻️🔥 CDR.fyi ESG Today Carbon Herald #ExomadGreen #CarbonRemoval #Biochar #CDR #ClimateAction #Sustainability #SoilHealth

Living Carbon is fast-tracking trees for the planet’s future. 🌲 The company’s enhanced photosynthesis trait allows trees to grow faster and accumulate about 53% more biomass, leading to greater carbon sequestration and longer-lasting wood products. We’re thrilled to support Maddie Hall, Patrick Mellor, and the entire team at Living Carbon for many reasons. 👩🔬 Product Innovation: Prioritizing product innovation over practice changes (e.g., no-till farming) simplifies the adoption of nature-based solutions for farmers. 🌱 Land Restoration: In the US, 1.6 million acres of degraded land can benefit from Living Carbon's trees, which proliferate, tolerate heavy metals, and help restore ecosystems. 📈 VCM: Living Carbon supports a robust Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) by generating diverse income streams (e.g., timber) and benchmarking its trees against others to ensure high-quality credits. 🌳 Scalability: Tree enhancement is scalable due to existing planting infrastructure. Living Carbon focuses on the Poplar tree, leveraging its well-known genetics to optimize carbon removal processes. Take a tour through the Living Carbon greenhouse below!

🌿 Harnessing Soil Carbon for Net-Zero: Key Insights from Agreena's Webinar Last week, Agreena hosted a webinar on the role of nature-based solutions, particularly soil carbon, in achieving corporate net-zero goals. Moderated by Archana Veerabahu, the session explored how advancements in MRV and robust methodologies have made soil carbon a scalable carbon removal solution with numerous environmental and social benefits. Here are some of the key insights: 🔹 Zsolt Lengyel, Carbon Markets Expert, highlighted the urgency of finding scalable carbon removal solutions due to the limited global carbon budget. He emphasized soil carbon as a proven, accessible method for carbon removal as it is not only cost-effective but offers multiple co-benefits like improved soil health, ecosystem resilience, and others. Zsolt also stressed the importance of regulations to create sustained demand for carbon markets as we face the challenge of removing gigatons of CO2. 🔹 Karolina Kenney, Senior Standards Specialist discussed Agreena’s role in mobilizing farmers towards regenerative agriculture and offering pathways to support the transition. Agreena provides credible primary data for Scope 3 accounting and reporting using advanced MRV solutions, backed by field visits and cross-checking with remote sensing to ensure precision in carbon quantification. 🔹 Jonas Maltha, Head of Commercial Development at Agreena, explained how companies in the Forest, Land Use, and Agriculture (FLAG) sector, particularly in food and agriculture, must engage farmers to decarbonize their Scope 3 emissions. This can be achieved directly by implementing regenerative practices with farmers or via insetting by investing in interventions that reduce carbon within the value chain. Jonas also highlighted the role of the financial sector (e.g., banks, insurers) in supporting sustainable practices through products like green loans. Farm data is crucial for scaling these efforts, enabling companies to obtain accurate emissions data and allowing governments to establish outcome-based regulatory processes. Watch the full webinar to gain deeper insights into how soil carbon can drive net-zero goals, the importance of robust MRV, and the role of agriculture in the carbon market here: https://lnkd.in/g-QdAv_B #NetZero #SoilCarbon #Decarbonization #CarbonMarkets
