I am one of the individuals who felt the impact of General Ogolla's passing, despite not having known him personally. I closely followed his funeral service and was deeply touched by his daughter's speech, from which I drew several valuable lessons: 1. Strive for excellence and let your accomplishments speak for themselves. 2. Cultivate your spiritual side; it serves as your anchor. 3. Embrace humility, as exemplified by General Ogolla, who was described as remarkably modest and unpretentious, embodying leadership without the need for a formal title. Rest in peace, General Ogolla!
The fragility of life - the most underrated fortune is to come back home. Our Chief of Defense Forces General Francis Ogolla and his men perished in an air crash, and these past few days through his life and death we are seeing bare the importance of humility and intentionality. Live as if tomorrow may never come, be kind to those around you, and those entrusted to your care, knowing full well that at the end of it all, there’s only one way and no one is getting out alive.

Absolutely right. In some cases, what most people think of “war” can become a mere distraction while the enemy presses forward on other fronts & reorients the world around itself. That’s what I believe China is trying to do at present with its Axis of autocrats & rogue regimes. While the USA is scrambling to catch up after neglecting its defense industrial & logistics bases for decades & finds itself drawn directly & indirectly into proxy wars around the world which threaten to spread us thin & break us on the world stage, China is dropping its tech stack onto much of the world, cornering strategic industries & supply chain bottlenecks, & positioning itself to win key territorial & technological frontiers. IMO, Americans have to think bigger, more holistically, & more creatively if we are to preserve our liberty, sovereignty, & prosperity in the coming years & decades. “Winning” is not necessarily about battlefield victories, it’s about who controls the networks & writes the rules which will define the next epoch of human history. We have tremendous advantages if only we can find the courage & vision to play to our strengths rather than reacting to the enemy’s moves & mirroring their tactics & strategy.
"There is more to war than warfare...when war is reduced to fighting, which is to say warfare, the logistic, economic, political and diplomatic, and social-cultural contexts are likely to be neglected. Any of those dimensions, singly or in malign combination, can carry the virus of eventual defeat, virtually no matter how the army performs on the battlefield." Colin S. Gray. 2009. Pg 32-33 "Fighting Talk"
