Google just play smart 🔥 So, about a week ago, Google came up with this new security feature for Gmail. This is one of Gmail’s biggest security updates in 20 years They're bringing some serious enterprise-level protection to everyone, not just the big corporations. How cool is that? Here's what's got me excited: -We can customize our own scan rules (love that flexibility!) -It'll automatically move suspicious stuff to same delivery Gmail is safe to enhance the browsing experience for its users. It will now basically give additional protection by scanning incoming messages for malicious content before it is delivered. With AI-powered anti-spam filtering & security advisor that gives personalized, real-time threat alerts for small businesses like ours, this is a huge update -Enhanced safe browsing -Threat scanning -AI that acts like 1,000 cyber-defenders on your side. It now scans attachments in a sandbox before they reach your inbox.. This feature is now accessible to everyone. We're all in for security that doesn’t just protect the biggest fish. So, for me this update is a huge leap forward in email protection to stay safe from evolving cyber threats. Have you seen any differences in your inbox yet? What are your thoughts? Are you feeling this upgrade as much as we are? Book a free strategy call to discuss your cold emailing strategy. Repost ♻ to inspire your network and 🔔 follow Nick Palasz for more

Great insight from Arvind Suthar (as always), and a really common scenario in many organizations. It is important to make sure even 'dev' environments are as secure as production spaces, and practice zero trust until it's second nature. :)
🚨 "It's just a dev environment" - Why 'No Data' Doesn't Mean 'No Risk' True story: A client had their development environment open to the internet. Their reasoning? "It's just dev, there's no data here." What they missed was shocking: This "harmless" dev environment had full access to EVERY employee's mailbox and could send emails as ANY user in the company. Think about that for a moment. A breach here could lead to: Company-wide phishing campaigns Data exfiltration via email Complete email system compromise 🔑 Key Lesson: Don't just secure HOW apps can be accessed - secure WHAT they can access. Critical questions to ask: If breached, what could an attacker do from here? What systems could they reach? What actions could compromise the wider organization? 🛠️ Tools you can use today: Microsoft Zero Trust Assessment Tool (free) Entra Security Scanner for App Registrations (free) Entra Permissions Management (premium) Remember: There's no such thing as an "unimportant" environment. Every access point is a potential gateway. What tools do you use to assess application permissions? Share below! 👇 #CyberSecurity #MicrosoftSecurity #EntraID #ZeroTrust

Today’s Cybersecurity Hygiene Tip – How to Review and Limit LinkedIn Permissions In my previous post, I mentioned the importance of understanding LinkedIn permissions to protect your privacy and security. Now, let’s take action with these exclusive steps to review and limit your LinkedIn permissions. Steps to Review and Limit Your LinkedIn Permissions: 1. Go to Settings & Privacy: Click on your profile picture (top-right corner). Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown menu. 2. Navigate to Data Privacy: In the left menu, click on Data Privacy. 3. Review Third-Party Apps: Select Other Applications > Permitted Services. Remove any third-party apps or services you no longer use or trust. 4. Check Profile Visibility: Go to Visibility Settings. Control who can see your connections list, activity, and profile details. 5. Manage Data Syncing: Under Data Privacy, review settings for Syncing Contacts and Calendar Sync. Disable syncing if you no longer want LinkedIn to access this data. 6. Review Ad Preferences: Under Advertising Data, manage how your data is used for ads. Go through these settings and adjust permissions to ensure you share only what’s necessary. Regularly reviewing these permissions keeps your LinkedIn account secure and your data private. Microsoft Recall: Genius or Nightmare? During our last Cyber Friday, the CyberLearners Community discussed this article and I’ll like to share a few details here. So Microsoft plans to introduce a "Recall" feature powered by artificial intelligence in its Copilot+ PCs lineup and this has brought up privacy concerns among security researchers and privacy advocates. How does this feature work? Recall functions by taking periodic snapshots of a user's screen, analyzing them, and storing them locally for easy retrieval. The aim is to help users remember things they may have forgotten by organizing information based on unique relationships and associations. According to Microsoft, "with Recall, you can access virtually what you have seen or done on your PC in a way that feels like having photographic memory." Sounds interesting, right? But there are lots of concerns about how safe this feature is for the privacy of user information. While Microsoft has implemented several privacy and security measures, like storing data locally in an encrypted manner, providing user controls to disable the feature (making it on an opt-in basis), and ensuring no data is sent back to Microsoft or used for AI training, experts have expressed significant concerns. Security researchers worry that the Recall database on a user's device could be a goldmine for attackers, exposing sensitive information like passwords, bank details, and social security numbers. With this feature, you can store up to three months' worth of snapshots. Imagine an attacker having access to your device and then also having access to three months worth of data covering snapshots of sites you visited, what you were doing on those sites, passwords, and other sensitive info. Now that gets a little scary. The UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has requested more transparency from Microsoft regarding Recall. Despite Microsoft's efforts to provide user protections, there are still concerns about the potential risks associated with Recall, especially in terms of exposure to endpoint security threats. Lots of critics are labeling it as an affront to user privacy and security best practices. What do you think about this feature? Genius or nightmare? #Cybersecurity #Microsoft #Informationsecurity

It's a sad day when even the tech giants can't protect their users from the very tools they create. The latest scam targeting Gmail users is a stark reminder that AI, while powerful, is also a double-edged sword. It can be used for good, but it can also be weaponized by malicious actors. Google, with its vast resources and expertise, should be at the forefront of combating these threats. Yet, it seems they've fallen short. How could such a sophisticated scam slip through their supposedly airtight security measures? Is this a sign of complacency? Or perhaps, a deliberate oversight? The implications of this breach are far-reaching. If even Gmail users can't trust the security of their accounts, where does that leave the rest of us? It's time for Google to take a hard look at their security protocols and implement more robust measures to protect their users from these AI-powered attacks. What are your thoughts on this? Is Google doing enough to combat these threats? Or is it time for a complete overhaul of their security infrastructure? Let's discuss. 📌 P.S. As a trusted cybersecurity specialist, I can help you assess your cybersecurity risks and recommend the right solutions for your business.
