Today, my wife's Google account was hacked despite having 2-step verification enabled 😫 . This experience has taught us a critical lesson: be cautious with your data security, even with reputable services like Google. We were fortunate to detect, by our own means, the breach within 20 minutes and regain control of the account. However, Google's "Recent Security Activity" indicated that the attacker added a new passkey before gaining access (?!?). This raises serious concerns about potential internal vulnerabilities or significant security flaws 😨 As users, we were left in the dark about how the breach occurred and the extent of the compromise. Google's support response was disheartening, placing the responsibility solely on us without offering much help or information 😐 If you face a similar situation, I recommend taking these steps: 1. Take screenshots during your recovery process. 2. Check the "details" section in Gmail for suspicious IP addresses ASAP (it only shows the last 10 and phones ping it a lot). 3. Prepare for minimal assistance from Google 😥 Stay vigilant and protect your digital assets! #CyberSecurity #DataProtection #Google #AccountSecurity #StaySafe

Almost all of us know Google Drive, and many of us use it; it is a cloud-based space on which you can upload and access your data. However, there might be some precautions you would like to take in order to keep your data safe on that space. Let's get to it. 1. Complex passwords that consist of different elements can be helpful 2. Enabling two-factor authentication on your Google account is a big step towards data privacy. 3. Before you upload your files to Google Drive, you can encrypt them using reliable encrypting tools. 4. Be very careful who gets your permission to access the files on Drive. You can set specific permissions for each file or folder. 5. Check your older files, and delete unnecessary ones every once in a while. 6. Some third-party apps may ask you for Google Drive access permission. Read the permissions carefully and grant access to the application only when you are certain. 7. Check activity log in Google Drive to keep yourself updated on unauthorized access or suspicious behavior. In case of finding any unusual activity, report it to Google. #privacy #cybersecurity ##dataprotection

Google, Let's Take Email Security to the Next Level! Hey Google team! As a loyal Gmail user, I appreciate the efforts you put into keeping our emails safe. However, I believe it's time to take email security to the next level! When hackers attempt to breach our accounts, it's essential to know where they're coming from. I urge Google to consider sharing the location of these attackers with the users, so we can better protect ourselves and take action if needed. Imagine being able to report suspicious activity and receive information on the attacker's location. This would not only enhance our online safety but also help authorities track down cybercriminals more effectively. Let's work together to create a safer online community! #EmailSecurity #Google #Gmail #CyberSecurity #OnlineSafety #ProtectOurPrivacy Google Google Operations Center Google Developer Groups (GDG) Feel free to share and show your support!

🔐 Google’s New "Shielded Email" Enhances Privacy for Gmail Users 🔐 In today’s digital world, where privacy is more critical than ever, Google has rolled out Shielded Email—a new feature designed to provide Gmail users with enhanced protection for their most sensitive communications. Here’s why this matters: 🌟 End-to-End Encryption: Shielded Email ensures that only the sender and recipient have access to the content of the email. Not even Google can access the message, offering a level of privacy that goes beyond standard Gmail encryption. This feature offers real peace of mind for those handling confidential information. 🔒 Enhanced Protection from External Threats: The tool actively defends against phishing, malware, and other malicious cyberattacks, making it harder for hackers or unauthorized parties to tamper with or intercept your messages. It also protects users from unwanted surveillance and data harvesting. 🔍 Privacy, Redefined: With Shielded Email, Google takes a major step forward in prioritizing privacy. While Gmail has long offered basic security protections, this new feature ensures that sensitive content remains truly private—shielded from tracking by advertisers, hackers, and even Google itself. 📊 Focus on Compliance and Privacy Standards: This move aligns with growing global demand for stronger privacy protections. As new data protection regulations (like GDPR) come into play, Google’s Shielded Email helps users meet the rising standards for privacy and security in communication. 🌐 Who Should Use It? Whether you’re a journalist protecting sources, an executive sharing sensitive business strategies, or simply someone concerned about personal privacy, Shielded Email offers a robust solution to keep your email communications secure. 🔑 Google’s Commitment to Privacy: This feature demonstrates Google’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding user data in an increasingly interconnected world. As digital surveillance and cyberattacks become more sophisticated, Shielded Email ensures that Gmail remains a trusted platform for secure communication. 💡 What’s Next? As more users seek stronger protections for their digital footprint, it’s clear that privacy-first technologies will continue to shape the future of communication. Google’s Shielded Email is just the beginning of what could be a broader push towards safer, more transparent digital platforms. If you’re handling sensitive communications, Shielded Email might be the protection you need to ensure your emails stay private and secure. 🌟 #Privacy #CyberSecurity #Google #EmailSecurity #Encryption #TechInnovation #DataProtection #DigitalPrivacy #Gmail #ShieldedEmail #DigitalTransformation
