When hiring IT candidates in 2024, think of it as fishing in a pond, not a sea. 🎣 Casting lines in the same pond at the same time leads to crossed lines, wasted time, and no successful catches. 🐟 Let's keep it simple: fewer fishermen get the job done effectively, and too many fishermen are just going to cross lines. dan@acuityconsultants.jobs Acuity Consultants #Recruitment #HiringStrategies

Vivid and nearly catastrophic reminder of culture. A colleague was enthusiastically anticipating an exciting job offer. He, the American, met with the hiring manager, a German, who'd flown to the US specifically for a final interview. After a lengthy period of acquaintance and familiarity, hey agreed to terms. Great! Here's the wrinkle. The American interpreted the terms as salary plus bonus equals total. X + Y = Z. The German's offer, apparently customary there, was total comp is comprised of salary plus bonus. X = A + B. The X's were the same number, so you can imagine the disorientation and confusion that ensued. Even the best-prepared, best-intentioned professionals can miss a subtle detail. Fortunately, all were professional and experienced enough, good negotiators, that a revised offer was made and accepted. The importance of culture! These differences can be based on nationality, gender, age/generation, etc. Don't take them for granted! This story has a happy ending. As you negotiate, do your best to confirm yours will too! #animalhealth #pethealth #livestock #veterinarymedicine #negotiations #compensation #culture #culturalnorms #culturaldifferences #brakkeconsulting #brakkesearch #recruiter

🌟 At KCAPeople, we believe in the ethical treatment of all living beings, including our animal counterparts. As World Animals in Laboratories Day approaches on April 24th, we pause to reflect on the importance of compassion and advocacy for the welfare of animals used in research. 🌍 This day serves as a poignant reminder of the millions of animals worldwide that contribute to scientific advancements. While their contributions are undeniable, it's imperative that we uphold the highest standards of care and respect for their well-being. 🐾 As advocates for both human progress and animal welfare, we recognise the need for responsible research practices that prioritise the humane treatment of animals. By supporting initiatives that promote alternatives to animal testing, advocating for stricter regulations, and fostering dialogue within our communities, we can work towards a future where scientific progress aligns harmoniously with compassion. 🤝 On this World Animals in Laboratories Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to advocating for the ethical treatment of animals in research. SWOT(C) A zoo manager gave an ad inviting forest animals to come and live comfortably in the zoo. However, they have to apply and face an interview. Cheetah: I am the fastest and nobody can match my speed. Manager: You can at best have a brisk walk in the space allocated to you. Forget chasing. Food will be supplied to you by our boys. Cheetah: Then what's my job here? Manager: Do graceful cat walk before the visitors. Elephant: I can pull down the mighty trees. Manager: You can't do that. Felling trees is a crime here, good fodder will be sent to you. Elephant: What's my work here? Manager: Pickup the food from kids and other visitors with your trunk and enjoy. Occasionally, take a handshake. Lion: I am very ferocious. While my queens hunt for food, I protect our land from encroachment. Likewise, I can do it for you. Manager: Great. But, our place is well secured with strong walls. You can as usual lazily relax, and now & then give a roar to shake our guests. Instead of your queen our chef will send your meals. Tiger, Elephant, and Lion: So, our strengths are of no use here. Manager: Of course, yes. Still, you can do your new jobs well. Other animals learned that strengths and weaknesses are contextual to jobs. They decided to prepare the resumes matching them to the jobs offered. #SWOT #analysis #jobs Thanks, Srinivas M Reddy

The Importance of Job Titles Is your job ad title catching enough attention for your animal care jobs? Although it seems like a small detail it could be why you're not receiving applicants. Creating an animal care job title could be compared to a Google search. You want to use keywords that are similar to what a job seeker may use to search for a job. ApplicantPro is your go-to to improve your ads! https://lnkd.in/gdKaxviw
