Another project where we helped out from start to finish which determined the need for rescue provision that included being able to recover a basket stretcher to a sensible clearance height so recovery is simple. The Genesi SC12 davit system makes this extremely simple. Ashfield Safety Hire designed a plan as to where the davit needed to be positioned and showed that it's rotation would be uninterrupted if required for recovery of a casualty or basket stretcher. We then attended site, core drilled the holes and set Fischer fixings studs using ETA approved Fischer resin. Pull testing was then conducted on each stud using a Staht digital pull tester to ensure that the pull out and tensile strength, was at least equal to that determined as necessary by Genesi to ensure safe working of their davit system. We then fitted the Genesi SC12 with bolt down socket and extension, this offers a 1200mm maximum reach and 2725mm high lift from concrete, ensuring a clear lift over the wall if the basket stretcher is used. This was all installed before the internal works of building the pumping station takes place, so rescue will be catered for once the internal construction starts.
