What’s the most important holiday in December? Jon’s workiversary, of course! Jon’s been with us for three years now, but with his daily dad jokes and unconventional wisdom, it feels like this character has always called Congruent home. Plus, Jon offers much more than the biggest laughs in the office. After all, his endless patience is the perfect antidote to web design complications and his preternatural understanding of the coffee machine keeps the office in perfect harmony. Jon, thank you for three years of incredible work!

For the working artists and designers out there. I know you are all busy maintaining the deadlines of your professional day to day life, but we have walked a long way away from our daily art practices what we used to. Never forget what brought us here today, and also never forget that it's a muscle memory and it's possible to forget the basics if we don't repolpish out skills. I personally have been struggling a lot to keep up with the practices while working at an advertising agency. Let's find some steps that might help us to get back into practices. 1. Set small, realistic goals (15-30 minutes daily). 2. Incorporate practice into your routine (e.g., early mornings or lunch breaks). 3. Combine work and practice by experimenting with techniques in professional projects. 4. Dedicate weekends to deeper, more personal projects. 5. Set up a dedicated workspace to make practice accessible. 6. Seek inspiration and join an artist community for accountability. 7. Track progress and celebrate small wins. 8. Be kind to yourself and embrace experimentation without pressure. Let's see if we can do this! let's go and godspeed! 🔥

Happy Friday! I have a quick accessibility tip: the way you write good alt text for link images (including things like icons) is different from how you write normal alt text! When a screen reader announces a linked image it announces it as both a link and a graphic. And then it’ll say what the alt text is. If you have a regular image with alt text that says “one of our resident cats sleeping in a sunny spot in the office” then that might be perfect (depending on the context). But if you have a linked image with alt text that says “one of our resident cats sleeping in a sunny spot in the office” then that will probably be confusing. Someone listening to a screen reader won’t have any idea where that link will take them! Here’s the difference between how those two things are announced by a screen reader (this might be slightly different depending on the screen reader): - Image - “graphic one of our resident cats sleeping in a sunny spot in the office” - Linked image - “link graphic one of our resident cats sleeping in a sunny spot in the office” When you’re linking images it’s good to think about the alt text more like link text. Where will that link take them? What should they know before interacting with it? Doing that will help people find their way! #Accessibility #A11y #UserExperience

It's been a busy past few months here at Seven, but amongst our projects we've been thrilled to welcome two new team members. Today we're excited to introduce the first new starter to the team, designer Angela Coote. With a keen eye for design and detail she’s already off to a great start on a range of projects for our clients. We asked Ange a few questions to get to know her a little better ⚡ Describe your job in three words? A: Concepts, Collaboration, Cmd Z How did you end up here? A: A somewhat linear journey for a designer — from a love to create and problem solve, studying design and onto couple role’s in the design industry, most recently as a digital designer. What’s one interesting fact we don’t know about you? A: A goal I have is to visit 30 countries by 30! If you could choose, what would your last meal be? A: Charcuterie board, lots of olives and cheese. What did you want to be when you were younger? A: Two things come to mind, a baker, or a zookeeper.

A small update on life at Seas Design recently… As we approach our tenth year in business, I’ve been reflecting on what we’ve achieved. While I’m incredibly proud of our accomplishments, sometimes things can feel a bit stagnant in the way we work. We’re fortunate to work with amazing people and businesses, generating significant income for our team, suppliers, and freelancers. Looking to the future, I want to accelerate our growth and move the business forward. While LinkedIn can often be a space for constant positivity, self-promotion or gloating, I believe in the value of honesty. That’s why I’ve decided to reinvest in Seas Design, pushing us towards the next decade with renewed energy. A few years ago, when we were taking on new clients, we had few boundaries in place. While this flexibility was beneficial, it also blurred the lines in some areas. Recently, we’ve partnered with a few experts to streamline our processes, particularly around client onboarding and offboarding—areas that have posed challenges in the past. We’re also working on a brand-new website that will truly represent who we are and what we do. I want people to see the incredible results we’ve achieved for our clients, including impressive ROI, awards, and media recognition. We’ve rarely celebrated these successes publicly, but it’s time to start doing so. I’m sure many can relate—the struggle of running your own business often means focusing so much on your clients that you neglect your own growth. But now, we’re committed to bringing Seas Design into the next decade! I’m excited to embark on this journey with everyone. We remain the same fun, professional, and approachable business, committed to providing the personable service we’ve offered since our early days as a one-man band. We’re not a huge corporate company, and we’re open to working with any business, big or small. However, we also recognise the need to establish boundaries as we grow, ensuring we stay on the right path. Im looking forward to sharing more on this very soon! (and if you do want to work with us, drop me a message!) Chloe Woodcock Sadie Evans Colin Smith
