ChangeSmith recently had the opportunity to share our #OrganizationalChangeManagement (#OCM) expertise in support of the US Navy. What a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with and appreciate the extraordinary efforts put forth by Naval change agents in support of our Sailors and Marines. Few challenges are as complex and global as synchronizing the IT needs and activities of America’s Warfighting Navy, and ChangeSmith is proud to have made a small contribution through examining and shaping behaviors consistent with robust and healthy OCM strategies. 🇺🇸🚢 ⚓️💖🦋 #OrganizationalHealth #HealthyLeaders #PracticeCulture #SafetyFirst #ChangeBetter #CoachesMatter

The goals set by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti in her new fleet-wide guidance may be tough, but they are realistic, the head of the Navy said. “Today I released my Navigation Plan for America’s Warfighting Navy. “This is my strategic guidance to the fleet and focuses on two strategic ends: 1) Readiness for the possibility of war with the Peoples Republic of China by 2027, and 2) Enhancing long-term advantage. We pursue these ends through two mutually reinforcing ways: 1) Implement Project 33 and 2) Expand Navy’s contribution to the Joint warfighting ecosystem. Together we will ensure the US Navy remains the world’s premier fighting force.“ See https://lnkd.in/gQEsPZfm

Part of what we do is hunt down photos of ships for family members that had relatives serve on them. We're working with the US Navy to develop an intelligent tutoring system that improves the navigation, seamanship, and ship-handling skills of naval Surface Warfare Officers (SWOs). KWYN™ MARLINSPIKE enables #virtualtraining that allows SWOs to practice a wide range of scenarios, including navigating crowded waterways to improve their ship-handling abilities. https://ow.ly/XIFK50UeZe0 #IITSEC #IITSEC24

So proud of my classmate, company mate, and friend RADM Jim Waters for the impact he is making on the fleet and our nation as he leads U. S. Navy recruiting. I have been recruiting for nearly thirty years and observed three effective recruiting concepts in this post that I wanted to share with you to help you recruit talent. Feel free to share what you or your organization have done that aligns with these concepts in the comments section. 1) Recognition is a great way to tell your organization's story as you recruit talent. How can you follow this example and, by recognizing those in your group who have achieved success and highlight those joining it, attract prospective talent? Video is such a great vehicle yet I have noticed most organizations do absolutely nothing with this potent and cost-effective tool to tell their story and attract talent. Does your organization have a YouTube channel dedicated to sharing testimonials via video? 2) Joseph Campbell, the legendary scholar on mythology, talks about how "myth" is what morivates us. The story, what Campbell calls "the myth", is what he describes as a "field of reference." The myth of the Navy and the Marine Corps is something you do not just learn about as a midshipman at Annapolis, but something you experience for four years and become a part of. It is the same thing for every sailor and marine going through boot camp. The ritualistic and challenging indoctrination becomes a rite of passage to embark on the adventure to join the myth and become part of the lore. 3) Ceremony and ritual is something that much of our society has lost yet is an important facet of the human journey and is a very attractive concept, especially to young people who have no ritual in their lives. Rituals enable us to physically manifest our commitment to the myth and help us commit more deeply to it. What rituals have become part of your organization's story? How can you follow this example and create traditions and rituals that bring your team together and become part of your lore? Bravo Zulu to the Navy recruiting team and also to Navy Football for another win over Army! Go Navy! #recruiting #recruitingtips #myth #lore #armynavygame
At the Army-Navy game today and proud to stand with CNO, MCPON, and the USMC Commandant as SECNAV swore in 20 Future Sailors and 20 Future Marines. Great to witness these young Americans commit to serve their country in front of so many….and it was so awesome to be there on the sideline for the 31 to 13 Navy victory! Go Navy!!

NAVSEA LOE 5: Strengthen the foundation , enhancing NAVSEA’s critical infrastructure. Bardex have been supporting the commercial and defense shipbuilding and repair industry for decades, examples, our launch and retrieval solution for submarines in the Hanwha shipyard in Korea and the HHI shipyard, we have recently won a shiplift project for Irving Shipyard in Halifax, to support the Canadian River Class frigate program, capable of launching and retrieving assets in excess of 27000t. We have been launching and retrieving assets without incident since the 1960,s and we are the only one that can say “We have never dropped a ship”!! We use hydraulic chain jacks and not cable like other companies and require a lot less life cycle O&M. Maximizing MISSION critical uptime. Animations of some of our solutions: OmniDockTM. A concrete, modular, transportable and scalable solution that requires no ballast water management and can replace a typical floating drydock. https://lnkd.in/gMfJzmQa Retrofitting graving docks with our OmniLiftTM to make them more operationally efficient. Representation of Pearl Harbor. https://lnkd.in/gVuuqBzz We see shipbuilding and defense programs accelerating over the forseeable future and it would be great if we could set up a meeting with you and your team to learn more about your plans and we could talk through our solutions, and how we could support. Hope to hear from you. My contact information is: dmcquillan@bardex.com
