I designed these displays 18 months ago for a retailer that didn’t work out (yet!). At the time I considered it a wasted effort. Now the displays have just been delivered to 65 pilot locations of a larger chain and will be launching in January (more to come on that!) I’m confident that they will do well for both of us! This particular retailer is one that I have applied to, and been turned down by, multiple times since June 2023. It just wasn’t the right time. This is just another example of how the startup process is non-linear and “no” doesn’t mean “no” forever. #startup #founders #grit #cpg

I've hosted 5 oversubscribed tech events in Arizona since November, and here are 2 quick lessons I have learned in hosting curated experience tech events for emerging tech ecosystems: 1. Check your phone actively the entire day of the event, and even more the first hour and a half of the actual event (if you can). Every time I have hosted an event, I get last-minute cancellation messages, or people trying to reach me via text, Linkedin, email, etc. for one reason or another. Some people get lost, and others ask for last-minute accommodations. Whatever the reason, if you respond quickly, they will be able to enjoy the event and atmosphere that much more. 2. Small promo videos go a long way in spurring interest for your event. I have hosted 5 events, 3 of which I have created short videos for to promote the space, atmosphere, and vibe. Without fail, each of the events with promo videos subscribe and fill out faster than those without one. It's easier for someone to get excited about an event they are attending if they can see and feel what the vibe is going to be like beforehand. There are so many more lessons that have been learned, but too many to include in one post. Look forward to hosting more tech events for the AZ valley in 2024, and big shoutout to all who have attended one of my events these last 4 months!!
