Giving Tuesday is almost here! And we are excited to announce the fundraising goal next week! Giving Tuesday is all about promoting kindness in the community. It's more than just raising money for awesome nonprofits, it's about being part of a community that cares for each of its members. The first challenge this year of the Giving Tuesday campaign is to show someone in your community kindness. Whether it's opening a door, giving someone a big smile, or helping someone with their grocery cart; even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact on the community. When Support Matters Most Rejection is a natural part of nonprofit development—I’ve always understood that. But some rejections hit harder than others. At a time when our community faces growing uncertainty and anxiety, when we are stretched thin navigating challenges and fighting to sustain vital services, a foundation we counted on chose not to support the very work that is helping people through these difficult times. Our impact report for the month of April is here! First things first - it’s not just about the numbers; it's about the lives we touch. Together, we've donated 1,119 items in April, reaching out to those in need and making a tangible difference in their lives. Every donation counts, and every act of giving creates a ripple effect of positivity. This month, we received 49 donations, each one a testament to the compassion and empathy of our supporters. Though slightly fewer than March's 65 donations, the impact remains just as profound. Our efforts have directly benefitted 533 residents, providing them with essentials and necessities they may have otherwise gone without. Looking forward, we see 283 open needs as of May 6, a significant increase from the 77 in March. But with each need comes an opportunity for us to make a difference, to extend a helping hand, and to spread hope and kindness. None of this would be possible without YOU - our amazing community of donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication, generosity, and passion drive our mission forward, and for that, we are endlessly grateful. Let's continue to stand together, to lift each other up, and to make a positive impact in the world. Giving Tuesday is quickly approaching and even if you did not prepare in advance you can still benefit during this holiday season. The holidays create a spirit of gratitude and generosity. Many givers look for opportunities to support their local nonprofits. Your job is to make it easy for them to find you and understand who you are (mission) and what you’ve DONE (output/outcome) ✅. Early planning is best, but it’s not too late to capture the heart ❤️ of new donors and engage current donors. This is why it is important to stay ready. Keep your profiles updated. Donors depend on these verified systems through Candid and GuideStar to ensure they are giving to legitimate charities. Make sure you post your seal of transparency on your website and social media as well. When a potential donor is in a giving mood eliminate any hesitation by showing you are verified and worth funding.
