THE ANATOMY Of A BUSINESS: A LIVING ENTITY In many ways, a business is like a colonial animal—a unique entity with its own nervous system, head, shoulders, and feet. Just as no two animals are alike, no two businesses are the same. Each one operates with its own emotions, responding to the world around it. In public relations and communication, understanding the "whole emotion" of a business is key. It’s not just about delivering messages but connecting with the heartbeat of the organization. Effective communication means aligning your strategies with the business's personality, its core values, and how it interacts with its environment. In my journey as a PR professional, I strive to tune into this emotional landscape of the businesses I work with. After a nice break and reflection on the state of work, I'm beyond excited to share that C. Grace Juneau Whiting and I have joined forces to launch our writing and communications firm, Whiting Communications, LLC. I've long believed that the best writing or content of any kind is helpful. RECONNECTING WITH MY PASSION After several fulfilling engagements as a multi-organisational business collaborator, working with various parties across different industries, I am taking a meaningful pause to focus on just one organisation and do something I truly love and am passionate about – corporate communications. I am now lending my expertise to AFA Group as an Advisor in Corporate Communications, a role that allows me to reconnect with the essence of what has always driven me: crafting impactful stories, building meaningful connections, and helping to shape AFA’s messaging as it undertakes transformative work on the KL-Karak and Bentong highways. These vital infrastructure projects connect communities, support businesses, and enhance lives, and communicating this impact clearly and effectively feels like a purposeful step forward. I look forward to coming to work and collaborating with a dedicated team that shares a commitment to progress and innovation. It is an opportunity to immerse myself fully in a field I deeply value and to channel my experience into work that truly matters.
