Ever had a hire go wrong? If you said no, I don't believe you. We're all human, it happens. Hiring top GTM talent can feel like finding a needle in a haystack—but with the right approach, you can identify standout candidates quickly. Here’s a few approaches we tend to use (and I'd love to hear yours). 1. Ask About Results, Not Roles Dig into specifics: “What was your sales target, and how did you exceed it?” Look for clear metrics and tangible outcomes. 2. Gauge Their Market Understanding Ask how they’d approach your target customers or market. High-performers will demonstrate strategic thinking and a deep understanding of GTM strategies. 3. Test for Agility Throw in a hypothetical challenge: “If you missed your Q2 target, what would you do next?” Their answer will reveal adaptability and problem-solving skills. 4. Tailoring your questions to align with the key criteria of the specified role, should go without saying, but worth a mention.
