With 750,000 diesel trucks on Australian roads, it’s interesting to think about how much of an impact Low and Zero Emission Trucks (LZETs) could make to our emissions over time. But as more organisations make a commitment to sustainability, it’s no surprise to see an increased interest in LZETs, as the local market becomes more familiar with their capabilities and applications. e-Trailers must be compatible with rail transport. However, with the placement of the equipment as presented in the film, this e-trailer is not. This is a real step backwards, because we are going to lose the market share of semi-trailers in combined transport, which is precisely the market that is booming. We need to think about tomorrow's ecosystem in terms of horizontal collaboration between road and rail, rather than trying to solve the zero-emissions equation in isolation. We have nothing to gain and everything to lose! #CT4EU, #RFF; #UIC; #Combinedtransport; #EUROPEAN; #CFLmultimodal; #C4L; #Europeancommission; #ZEFES; Tilly Metz Karima Delli

🏋 🚛 Did you know that adapting EU weight and dimension regulations could make zero-emission trucking more efficient? The Weights & Dimensions Directive plays a critical role in enabling cleaner and greener transport solutions. ⚖️⚡ By increasing maximum allowable weights for #electric and #hydrogen trucks, trucks can account for heavier batteries and fuel cell systems without compromising cargo capacity. These changes are essential to make #zeroemission #trucking competitive with diesel alternatives. At ECTA, we’re working to ensure that regulations evolve to support innovation and sustainability in freight. 🌍💡Let’s move forward, together and check our latest position on the topic! #CleanTrucking #PolicyImpact #ZeroEmissionTrucking #ECTA https://lnkd.in/e6xcT2-N
