For nearly 12 months the ISU and LBA have conducted a full strategic review of the competition portfolio and the go to market brands.
One of the most dynamic sports on ice is Short Track racing, in fact it is the fastest sport in the world that does not rely on any mechanical power…
So it has been an amazing journey to look at the DNA of the sport and reimagine the competition as a distinct world tour with 6 stops around the world on 3 continents.
The new format will see a focus on Teams racing each other not simply as the Italians, Japanese, or Netherlands we now have the Gladiators, the Ninja’s and the Lions.
Along with a new in-venue presentation, on-line presence, and on-screen presentation, the new format, new brand, and new team brands will provide an amazing engagement opportunity for athletes, fans, and commercial partners.
Under the new leadership of Jae Youl Kim and Colin Smith the ISU have taken bold new steps to reshape the future of ice skating, gaining strong alignment and commitment from the member associations to enact change.
