2024 has been a year of profound growth, resilience, and transformation. It brought challenges that tested my strength both personally and professionally, yet it also revealed opportunities to grow, adapt, and reconnect with what truly matters. This year marked significant transitions in my career. As an HR Coordinator at CU Boulder, I embrace new responsibilities, navigate complex challenges, and continue to deepen my expertise in human resources. These experiences not only sharpened my skills but also reaffirmed my commitment to fostering positive workplace cultures and supporting employee success. On a personal level, I faced one of the most difficult trials of my life, a health diagnosis that required life-saving surgery. The experience taught me the importance of patience, self-care, and trusting the process, even when it feels uncertain. It was a humbling reminder to prioritize health and well-being as part of a balanced life. Family has also been at the heart of this year’s journey. While we faced challenges together, we emerged stronger, more connected, and more resilient. These experiences reinforced my belief that open communication, empathy, and perseverance are the foundations of meaningful relationships. I am deeply grateful for the support network that has carried me through this year. My sister has been an unwavering source of strength, and the encouragement I’ve received from friends, colleagues, and my mentor has been instrumental in helping me stay focused and motivated. Their belief in me inspired me to keep moving forward, even during the most trying times. Reflecting on 2024, I am reminded that challenges are often disguised opportunities for growth. Each hurdle this year taught me to lean into my values, trust in my community, and approach every situation with resilience and grace. As I look ahead to 2025, I am excited to continue building on the lessons and experiences of this year. I also found a wonderful therapist and doctor that takes great care of my well-being! This year has been the hardest in business. We lost one of our biggest customers after we decommissioned our first product (a wellbeing app) because it didn’t align with our mission. We’ve faced real uncertainty as a business, lost team members, and at times, I’ve really felt the weight of running a business that supports people I care deeply about. And with freedom as one of my core values, this year has felt anything but free... I’ve delivered more sessions than ever, sharing the story of losing my Dad to suicide over and over. I broke boundaries I’d set to protect myself, putting everything into growing the business. It’s certainly taken a toll on me, my family and my relationships. But this year has also taught me resilience. It’s given me a new perspective. It’s reminded me of how a purpose-led business brings incredible people into your life that align with your values. I’m deeply grateful for those who’ve stood by me, for those who’ve been part of this journey, and for the team continuing to make an impact. As I look back on one of the toughest years I've had, I'm taking everything I’ve learned this year into 2025 with optimism. I can confidently say this year has been one of real growth. We’ve impacted more people than ever and finished the year in the strongest position yet. Heading into 2025, we’re at the forefront of redefining Mental Health First Aid in the workplace. We’re partnering with world-leading brands to create genuinely supportive environments that don’t just tick boxes but drive meaningful cultural change. Through our platform, we’ve built a framework that protects both their MHFA networks and their business, ensuring lasting impact where it matters most. But for now, it’s time to switch off. As 2024 comes to a close, I feel extremely grateful. This time last year, just before the holidays, I received a perfect performance review from my former organization (which is not listed on my page and shall remain unnamed). Yet, on the very same day, I was let go. Yes, you read that right. Despite my stellar review, I was dismissed. Why? Because I stood up for myself, established boundaries, and prioritized my family and mental health over the organization. Apparently, those values didn’t align with theirs—even though they were a nonprofit “all about giving back.” Now, I’m fortunate to work for an organization that values me as both a human and a professional. This year brought personal and health challenges that required me to prioritize myself. How did my team respond? They stepped up, took over my meetings, and said, “Take care of yourself,” without hesitation or judgment. They gave me the time I needed, trusting that I would return better and stronger. As a result, I was able to achieve so much: hiring over 170 clinicians, significantly contributing to scaling the company’s clinical capacity, and showcasing skills beyond talent acquisition. This is what a healthy work environment looks like—it nurtures both individuals and the organization. I share this story to highlight the importance of standing up for yourself. Knowing your worth and refusing to settle for less will guide you to success. Facing a CEO or COO isn’t easy, but it’s far worse to let a job compromise what truly matters: family, health, and well-being. 2024 has been an incredible year of growth, and I’m excited to continue making an impact at Daybreak Health! #grateful #talent #edtech #mentalhealth

2024 was really not the greatest year ever, but it had moments of growth. We take the good and the bad together and it molds us for the future, right? As I look back on last year, I can't help but to see how my personal and professional accomplishments have often intertwined. After all, I am an HR person 100% of the time - probably annoys my friends and family. I like lists, so here are a few 2024 milestones of which I am immensely proud that will affect me profoundly in 2025: 1️⃣ I lost some weight!! Since April, I’ve lost 35 pounds—a goal I set to improve my health and well-being. It’s been a journey of small, consistent choices: good eating habits and a trusty yoga mat. ‼️ In 2025, I’m committed to extending this progress. 2️⃣ Helping my organization navigate two years of significant change has been challenging, but deeply rewarding 🏆. I’m proud of the incredible work our employees do every day and the intentionality it takes on their part to build a strong culture. Next week’s company kick-off (a rare opportunity for our 100% remote team to gather in person) will be a highlight of 2025, and I’m super jazzed about it. 😁 3️⃣ After 20 years in HR, I introduced the Cultural Microsphere model, a passion project that has turned into a career-defining professional milestone. This year, I launched my website, started blogging, and refined the model’s core components. In 2025, I’m thrilled to bring this to life through culture-building workshops with executives via my new LLC, HR Lift Hill Advisory, and a new consulting partnership.
