"Google Grant changed my life"
I'm not even joking.
Five years ago, when the NMA was in a very different place, I was lost in my thoughts about the direction in which to head for our marketing.
We'd be doing what we'd always done. Leaflets, magazine adverts, PR, all the traditional stuff.
When Ant from Navigate contacted us to help reimagine our marketing budget, he asked, "Have you heard of a Google Grant?"
That was my first exploration into digital advertising.
Small investment, tracking set up and off we went.
When the first report came in on how much revenue the grant was driving, the leadership team asked me to double-check it because "that can't be right."
It was right. The grant brought in more money than we were spending, a direct line to return on our investment.
If we know that works, what more can we do?
That led to paid search, paid social media, display, data capture, and the rest is history.
