This simple yet powerful method can significantly lower stress levels and promote relaxation. How it works: 1. INHALE through your nose for 4 seconds. 2. HOLD your breath for 7 seconds. 3. EXHALE slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds. Slow breathing techniques with long exhalation will signal a state of relaxation by the vagus nerve, resulting in more vagus nerve activity and further relaxation.
