The truth is, I didn’t choose it—it chose me. Prior to founding Bluxies Incorporated, I had NEVER envisioned myself doing it. I knew firsthand from prior experiences that leadership was hard work, so I shelved the idea as soon as it came to me in 2021. The thought of building anything from scratch irked me. Now, 16 months down the line, I am grateful—grateful that I took the chance. It has been such a deeply fulfilling and profoundly rewarding experience so far. My greatest point of gratitude is the ability to impact people’s lives, even in the smallest ways. Some of the challenges I’ve learned to tackle include: ↳ Creating synergy among very diverse people from different backgrounds, cultures, and sociocultural perspectives. ↳ Avoiding slippery slopes by fostering an atmosphere of collaboration. ↳ Dealing with occasional imposter syndrome and mental limitations. ↳ Conquering my fear of working closely with others in a way that was foreign to me. My biggest drive in all the work I do is to embody my principles and let them reflect in my actions. At Bluxies Incorporated, I am driven by my passion to help women find their purpose and motivation. What makes them tick? Our community encourages women to approach personal development from a holistic standpoint. While building professional capacity, they must also prioritize wellness, develop mental fortitude, and pursue overall well-being. Another “WHY” I hold dear is my desire to create space for cross-cultural dialogue. This fosters opportunities to confront implicit biases and build mutual understanding. It gives me a profound sense of fulfillment and gratitude to see women find their calling and thrive in it. So, I started a birthday tradition: I buy myself a gift to celebrate me. This year, I picked out a beautiful coat, something that feels very special. It’s a little reminder to treat myself with the same care I give to others. 📚 What’s one thing you’re excited to accomplish before your next birthday? There are two things I’m really looking forward to. First, I want to finish a draft of a book about my life experiences—sharing stories that might inspire or encourage someone else. And second, I’d love to do a public speaking engagement for the same reason: to connect with people and let them know they’re stronger than they realize. 🌍 What’s a fun fact that people don’t know about you? I’ve never liked feeling limited by fear, but I used to let my poor sense of direction hold me back from exploring. Years ago, I decided to push myself and took a 40-day solo trip through Europe. Did it fix my sense of direction? Nope—I still depend on GPS every day! But it taught me that getting a little lost isn’t the worst thing. Sometimes, it’s how you find the best adventures.
