Site visits are one of the highlights of my job. I genuinely love being on-site, problem-solving for clients and seeing projects come to life. Just like any jolly, it does mean work is stacking up at the office. But here’s the silver lining: those moments out in the field are the ones that spark new ideas. It gives us a chance to find creative solutions to client niggles. It shows us how to streamline what we do to make it more efficient. It helps us to build the relationships with our clients and partners that make us unique in our industry. Balancing site visits with desk time is pretty important but, every site visit is an golden opportunity to do what we do best! #SiteVisits #ProblemSolving #WorkLife #Teamwork #ConstructionIndustry #Surveying

🦈 Shark Sightings on the Rise in the UK! 🌊🚨 Recent reports of increased shark sightings around the UK coastlines have everyone talking. And while beachgoers are being warned to stay vigilant, it reminded me of navigating the job market these days... 🧐 Recruitment can feel like braving shark-infested waters: 1. Spot the "Sharks" in Your Talent Pool: Not every candidate is as friendly as they appear. Some come with hidden agendas or a track record that doesn’t quite match up. Make sure your screening process is sharp enough to catch the “sharks” before they get too close. 2. Stay Close to Your Core Values: Just like staying near lifeguards on the beach, keep your hiring decisions aligned with your company’s core values. Don’t drift into deep waters with candidates who don’t fit your culture! 3. Act Quickly, But Avoid Panic Hiring! When you spot a top candidate, move swiftly before the competition swoops in. But remember, panicking can lead to costly mistakes. Take your time to evaluate thoroughly—even under pressure. Whether you’re on the UK coast or in the job market, keep your eyes peeled and be prepared for what might be lurking beneath the surface. 🦈🚩 Need help navigating the recruitment waters? Give TD Recruitment a call at 0207 307 3037—we’ll help you find the best talent and avoid the sharks! 🦈👍 #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #StayVigilant #TDRecruitment

Dear contract employees, ALWAYS give ✌🏼 weeks notice if you are leaving an assignment early. Giving 1 days notice is unprofessional. Winnipeg is SMALL. You never want to burn any bridges. You always want to leave a role with them over-joyed with your work ethic and leaving on a positive note. (I get it though, you most likely got a permanent job and are eager to start). TRUST ME, that new company will understand if you need to give 2 weeks because that is the right thing to do. #2weeksnotice #silentquitting #newjob #newopportunity #winnipeg #contractroles

Great conversation between Kathryn Pharr from Community of Women in Water and Josh Newton of Josh's Water Jobs with great tips. 👇🏽 📺 https://lnkd.in/dpKSSvZW 7 key take-aways: 1️⃣ The best way to find a job is through networking - reaching out to people in organizations you're interested in, attending conferences, and having informational interviews/conversations. Online job boards are helpful but most jobs are found through personal connections. 2️⃣ When looking to relocate for a job, do your research by talking to people who live there about the living conditions, schools, housing market, healthcare, etc. Some companies may offer a trial period before fully relocating. 3️⃣ To get a job with limited experience, seek out short-term consultancies and paid internships to get your foot in the door. Demonstrate initiative, ask smart questions, and do your research on the organization. 4️⃣ Transferable skills like communication, writing, language abilities, and soft skills are very valuable, even if you don't have direct water sector experience. Frame your existing skills in the language of the job you're applying for. 5️⃣ To stand out to recruiters, showcase personal projects, volunteering, knowledge sharing on social media, etc. This demonstrates motivation and initiative. 6️⃣ Be upfront with potential employers about your needs around remote work, travel requirements, and work-life balance, especially if you have family considerations. Many organizations are open to negotiating flexible arrangements. 7️⃣ Continuously build your skills through online courses, MOOCs, certifications etc. Josh's Water Jobs plans to create a database of such training opportunities. #WASH #Jobs #Inclusion #genderEquity #WomenInWater
