My name is Melissa Stanley and I am the General Manager of the AC Hotel. She's my assistant general manager, my rock. I have known Deneen since the beginning of this journey at AC H1. Of the things that I could speak to is her commitment. She's there for her teams every day. She most recently and notably when our Manager of the Year for our High performance awards for 2023. I've never seen a person who will sacrifice their self the way that Denine sacrifices for her team. She has that art of servant leadership that can't be replicated and Deneen can never be duplicated. My name is Sarah Jorgensen. I'm the general manager of the courtyard. Margo is very unassuming. She is an amazing human being. She started off as a room attendant, so she's a very hard worker and it's shown throughout her years with the courtyard. She leads the team. She is such a great support to her family and the other room attendants that are there and it's almost like a mother figure for for many people in the hotel. One word I would say describes Mago is dedication. Margo's dedication to ensuring that our guests are well taken care of, that her fellow associates are well taken care of and just embracing everyone, making the courtyard the family that we are. I'm Kent Mattson. I'm the Corporate Controller for Amway Hotel Corp. Robin is our admin assistant and the accounting office. She's very upbeat, very positive attitude, always seems to be happy. She doesn't mind having uncomfortable conversations with clients or customers. What are Robins major accomplishments? Well, she's taken care of Mark for 40 years in accounting. She takes the fact that she's a notary very seriously. And when you have something notarized, she'll request that you give her ID, even if she's known you for 24 years, and she'll look at the picture to make sure that it's really you. Robin is extremely hard worker and she's really just dedicated to the hotel. My name's Jen Shaler. I'm the Director of sales. Ron is my boss and has been for roughly 25 years in sales department. What was Ron like when I first started? He was kind of the man about town, larger than life, and has this really amazing laugh that you can hear no matter which end of the office you're on. He was somebody that had looked up to as a mentor, somebody that I definitely wanted to spend time with and learn from. He can be downright firm, but he is also so much fun. He can make you laugh. He is a blast. I just want to say thank you for your leadership, thank you for 25 years of your support, your encouragement and I'm always being there for me. My name is Todd Webb. I'm the executive chef of the JW Marriott. It's been almost 11 years since I've been working with Ryan Welch. He's a great asset to have because really he's been in the building. He knows where everything is. He knows how to point people in the right direction. Ryan today is very much Ryan 10 years ago. I think he's grown as a person. He's matured as a person, but he hasn't lost his willingness to help and do the best for our guests and our team. He's a dedicated guy who is willing to go above and beyond and anytime of the day. She's really invaluable for our operation and team at the JW. My name is Mike Sabo. I am the executive chef of the main kitchen here at the Amway Grand Plaza. I've worked alongside Steve since I started here, going on 24 years. What Steve's done for the hotel I don't think has been maybe recognized by everyone. Just his day in and day out, countless hours, long weeks. One word to describe Steve. Teddy Bear. He comes off as to most people as being angry and mad and but once you've talked to him, he's completely different person. Qualities that make Steve valuable or I would say more than anything, his dedication to his job and to the hotel. Brett and I have worked together for, well, he's been here longer than me, so 24 years. Bruntz just really easy to get along with. He is friends with everyone. He's very personable. He does a great job of mentoring our younger staff or newer staff. What are some of Brent's major accomplishments? Well, he survived accounting for 30 plus years, so that's a huge accomplishment. Really. A lot of the new projects, new systems that we've rolled out over the years, he's always been a key figure, now really cares about all his coworkers. And friends and always willing to do go that extra mile to help people out. My name is Christine Imbens. I'm the shipping and receiving manager at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. I've known Cindy since I started here in 2007. She's a real genuine person. She really taught me a lot about the culture here at the hotel. Another thing about Cindy that's unique is she learns about you and knows what your favorite things are. And she really picked up quickly on me with my love for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. So just random days. She'll stop by and drop one off and just, you know, kind of walk away and sweeten your day like that. She's a very compassionate friend and most of all, very genuine. Cindy, congratulations on 40 years. Happy to have you here and happy to call you my friend Margo. I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for your many years of dedication to the Courtyard, your unwavering, amazing guest service and just all that you bring to the family that we have there. So I was seven years old when Steve started here at the hotel and. I really appreciate his hard work, as I believe everyone else here does, and congratulations on 35 years. Thank you to everyone. I know there's been a lot of folks highlighted today, but thank you to each and everyone of you for your service and hitting your milestones. Your dedication and your devotion to the company do not go unnoticed, so thank you.
Awesome job on the video and to all of the people who contributed to it. Hats off and THANK YOU to all of the folks celebrating milestone anniversaries with AHC Hospitality!! Such a great evening!

Jeremy Clarkson has found that turning visitors to his pub into a profit is “nigh-on impossible” so far.
Which also highlights the challenge for the hospitality sector at the moment, despite all the publicity the pub received…

When it comes to genuine political changes for small businesses in Australia, I recently asked my local Federal MP to table the motion for GST reform in food businesses.
Changes could be one way to soften the crippling blow being dealt to the hospitality industry.
💡 My idea is this:
Either remove GST from restaurant prepared food, or add GST to the raw goods.
Removing GST from each transaction will support SME cash-flow by reducing the quarterly GST bill. And this is certainly the preference.
If the cost of goods are GST-inclusive this could make it a more even playing field for the operators that purchase items GST free, transform the food item into a meal and then charge GST on the final product.
Any GST incurred during this process can be claimed as a deduction.
‼️ Why does the SME sector bear the brunt of the cost of living crisis, when fossil fuel companies get huge subsidies?
I feel it’s time to level the playing field for SME.
