A big thank you to Joy Plant and Louise T. for an insightful panel at Iterable's London Engage event! Some key takeaways for me: Louise shared her journey from working with large brands like Bumble, Headway, and Formula E, all the way to her current role as CMO at Reveri Health (which, by the way, is an incredible app!) Her story highlighted the importance of finding companies where you can be entrepreneurial, something that really resonated with me. Being able to take initiative—whether it's launching a new product or entering a new market—feels vital for growth. At Reveri, they're focused on creating meaningful relationships with their customers—a clear advantage of working with a smaller, more engaged community. This got me thinking: as marketers, we often look to big brands for "best practices," but maybe the real opportunity is in flipping that approach. Instead of following in their footsteps, we should focus on building deeper, more human connections with our own customers. P.S. Yep, apparently Keanu Reeves loves bacon

Reflecting on our time at Culture House x HTX @ AfroTech, we were inspired by the insights shared by Stephanie Alexis Smellie, Head of Business Development for Patreon; and Hallease Narvaez, Creative Director & Executive Producer for StumbleWell during the panel Building Communities that Thrive. They explored how Patreon empowers creators to transform fans into active participants in their creative journeys. Stephanie highlighted Patreon's ability to energize fandoms, provide creative freedom, and foster direct creator-to-fan relationships, while Hallease shared how she leveraged these tools to launch multiple series, gaining invaluable feedback from her Patreon community.
