When I was in recruitment we would often post on a Friday to generate applications over the weekend when people were 'off' work and job searching. We attended new business meetings throughout the week with clients signing off by Friday to take advantage of this. The biggest scam on LinkedIn : I am hiring for multiple positions. "Like this post and I will review your profile." "Share your email and phone number and we will contact you." "Comment interested below and I will review your profile." Please understand, No legitimate recruiter or talent acquisition professional will ever hire talent in such an unprofessional manner. These scams are just a way for recruiters to create a database of responses and boost their visibility. Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Looking for some advice, if someone would care to offer any... Could someone please help me understand how it is that when I apply or post my resume on what are supposed to be legitimate job boards, I get three or four false offers for interviews a day? How can I avoid having this happen in the future? Due to some medical issues that have come up over the last year, at this time, I can only work from home. It has been my experience that scammers and identity thieves frequently target people looking for remote work-from-home jobs. For whatever reason, searches for these positions result in many ads and emails (not even "junk" emails as they have obtained my email from my resume from the "job" that I thought I applied for) for "get rich quick" or "make money while you sleep" schemes. I am NOT lazy. I WANT to work. I have worked physically demanding jobs almost my entire career, and now that I can't go out into a workplace, I feel as though I'm being targeted and labeled as gullible or naive. I've been trying to research what skills I already possess that I can utilize and improve upon to make myself more marketable to legitimate employers, but first I need some help in learning how to find those legitimate employers to apply to. If anyone could give me some direction on where to go with this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Since my RIF in February I have been actively combing job boards, LinkedIn posts and updating my resume to apply to remote/hybrid recruiter roles . 9 times out of 10 my cold application wouldn't even receive a rejection email. 👻 Then I started leveraging my network- I reached out to past colleagues and managers and hit up other recruiters I knew for job referrals, accessed my alumni network. During this process I scored a couple of interviews for roles that weren't even posted because the inbound application rate is too high! 🤔 So I have officially ditched the cold apply- instead I am spending my time networking and trading favors, and asking people at companies I am interested in to keep their eyes peeled for me. 🥷🏼 Yes, the Talent market is picking back up but layoffs keep occurring.
