Certainly! The role of an artist manager is multifaceted and pivotal to an artist's career. These managers, often referred to simply as "managers," act as brand advisers, business advocates, and 24/7 allies. Their influence spans every aspect of an artist's professional journey, from long-term goals to daily schedules. They handle tasks such as booking gigs, planning album projects, orchestrating record releases and tours, and devising marketing and merchandising strategies. Additionally, managers play a critical role in negotiating contracts, resolving conflicts, and ensuring the artist's well-being. They also leverage data analytics tools like Viberate to monitor career performance, identify opportunities, and compare and improve strategies. Representation by a music manager involves advocating for the artist's interests, maximizing financial and creative opportunities, and securing the artist's final approval on decisions to uphold their vision and integrity. #ArtContracts #RoleofManager #Professional #ArtisticFreedom

Chances are you are hiring production professionals who are faking it. This is just facts. Most up and coming in the regional markets weren't trained, weren't brought up on set, or in a production office. Production isn't easy... well unless your creative is weak and you have a big budget, then its impossible not to screw it up. And many have figured out, hire a good DP, say yes to everything and "you too can be an exec producer or even a director!" I'll leave you with this. In Wherespot FB group this past week this was a post: A client wants to hire me to produce a few commercial spots in Houston. The project requires Talent, Director, DP, key grip with gear, and multiple locations, so maybe a location scout. So my question is, what is the person called to put all these pieces together? Would that be the Production Manager? I am looking for a person in Houston who can help me put all these assets together and give me price points for these individuals. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sigh... this was not satire. This person was being hired to "produce" for a client, and literally asked for help "producing" the job without knowing what he was being asked to do or how.

Preparing your office for a video shoot: our production assistants do a great job of managing the shoot and it’s much easier if everyone in the office knows that video production is happening. This will ensure that employees not in the video don’t make an unexpected cameo. This will also keep noise (talking and phones) at a minimum during the shooting.

🎬✨ As a Post Production Supervisor, I often find myself navigating the enchanting yet chaotic world of Fact Ent—where my desk is essentially a shrine to caffeine and late nights! One of the quirks of our job? Convincing some production companies that we’re not just here for moral support and coffee runs, but that we’re an essential part of the process! It’s easy to overlook us during the hustle and bustle of production. After all, while the cameras are rolling and the presnenters are delivering their best performances, we’re the friendly ghosts working behind the scenes. Now, I’m aware that there are times when our role feels, well, a bit like an underappreciated plant in the corner of a busy room. You know, the one you forget to water until it’s on the brink of existential crisis. But hey, I get it! With so many moving parts in production, it’s easy to overlook our humble offerings—those hours of planning the edits, sound design, and color correction that makes everyone else look good! So, to my fellow Post Production Supervisors—let’s continue to advocate for ourselves and gently remind others of the magic we create. And who knows? Maybe one day we’ll get the recognition we deserve. Until then, I’ll keep perfecting the art of organizing timelines while letting you know that, yes, we do exist, and no, I’m not just here to make sure the snacks are stocked and you have enough white board pens 😉 #PostProduction #FilmIndustry #WeAreHere #HumbleAndHungry #LetTheMagicHappen

We recently had a client who wanted an employee to represent their company on camera, but their employees were terrified of being in the spotlight. 🤐 So how do you turn an introvert into a superstar? Here are three strategies we find really effective. 1: Use a teleprompter so there's no need to memorize the script 2: Tactfully interview the subject to organically lead them down your story points 3: Bring in a professional spokesperson to handle the hosting duties For all strategies, it's essential to make sure everyone is comfortable on set and understands the vision. An experienced director's job starts way before the day of production. With the right team, you can guide almost anyone into a confident presenter. For everything else, there's handsome spokesmodels. #videoproductiontips #digitalmarketing Edge of Cinema

As the creative driving the project, it’s your responsibility to ensure your vision is clearly communicated to the casting director. If you don’t fully know what you want, that’s okay just be open about it. A good casting director thrives on collaboration and can help you refine your ideas. The worst approach is starting a blame game when things don’t align as you have not briefed the CD properly . remember this is your Production be on top of it be all over it !!! Casting directors can only work with the information they’re given, so it’s critical to invest time upfront to share your vision. Remember, they are partners in bringing your vision to life, not mind readers .Clear communication and collaboration lead to great outcomes! #castingdirector #serviceproduction #advertising #Creative #globalproductionservices #marksummerscasting

The Fear of Finding Your First Clients as a New Manager Starting out as a new music manager can be terrifying. You know you’re new, inexperienced, and you feel like you’re not qualified enough to take on artists. It’s easy to doubt yourself—how do you approach potential clients when you’re not even sure of your own value yet? Here’s the dilemma: You don’t feel experienced enough, but you also know you won’t gain experience without clients. The fear of not being “good enough” can be paralyzing, and pricing your services feels like walking a tightrope—how do you price something when you’re still figuring out your worth? The truth is, every manager starts somewhere. The key is believing in your vision and knowing that no one became an expert overnight. Confidence doesn’t come from pretending to have all the answers; it comes from being willing to learn and grow alongside the artists you work with. Experience is gained on the job, and every step forward builds your credibility. To all the artists out there: If you’re looking for someone who’s as hungry as you are, someone who’s committed to growing your career alongside their own, that’s exactly what new managers offer. We might not have years of experience yet, but we have something else: passion, determination, and a fresh perspective. What’s more important to you—years of experience or a manager who’s in the trenches with you, willing to grind just as hard? #MusicManagement #NewManagers #ArtistDevelopment #BuildingCareers #MusicBusiness #IndieArtists #ArtistManager #GrowthTogether #Manager #MusicIndustry

Wrapped another shoot for Apple on Friday. I’ve been writing and directing for them for a year and a half now, and I’m proud of what we’ve made. At the start, it was super intense. Apple’s standards are no joke. I’d spend nights before shoots going over every tiny detail, trying to be ready for anything. Now there’s still that pressure, but what’s changed is trust. We’ve built something solid, and that makes such a difference. The team we’ve got now—it’s all about them. They’re talented, sure, but more than that, they’re good people. We’ve figured out how to work together in a way that pushes everything to the next level without it being too tough. That’s in big part thanks to Charlotte Westley, who is so good that she’s now the only producer I want to work with. And Marcelo Lutter-Paz, the DOP who has built the look and feel of the account. This week, we’re gearing up for our biggest project of the year: ten short films. I’m excited, but I’m also confident, because I’m working with such great people. Building these relationships, trying new things, learning from each other—that’s what’s been key to elevating the work, and it’s what we’ll continue to do! Looking forward to seeing where this next one takes us. #teamwork #production #storytelling #creativeleadership #trusttheprocess
