As the creative driving the project, it’s your responsibility to ensure your vision is clearly communicated to the casting director. If you don’t fully know what you want, that’s okay just be open about it. A good casting director thrives on collaboration and can help you refine your ideas. The worst approach is starting a blame game when things don’t align as you have not briefed the CD properly . remember this is your Production be on top of it be all over it !!! Casting directors can only work with the information they’re given, so it’s critical to invest time upfront to share your vision. Remember, they are partners in bringing your vision to life, not mind readers .Clear communication and collaboration lead to great outcomes! #castingdirector #serviceproduction #advertising #Creative #globalproductionservices #marksummerscasting

Commercial casting: Should you hire actors or use real-person testimonials? If famous commercial actors like Stephanie Courtney (Flo from Progressive) and Dean Winters (Allstate’s resident Mayhem) have shown us anything, it’s that casting is key to a commercial’s success. With real-people casting on the rise in recent years, many companies are asking what’s best for them: to hire an actor, or use real employees or customers to help sell their product or service? Let's explore the pros and cons of each option: https://bit.ly/3ZYNEvW #Backstage #Commercial #Casting #Advertisting #CastingDirector #Strategy #Content #ContentStrategy

99% of people have wrong perceptions about Directors. They think - Directors just shout 'Action!' and 'Cut!' on set. - Wear fancy clothes, and attend glamorous parties. - They have a team to do everything and just take credit for the film's success. - It's a job only for famous people and involves a lot of drama and ego clashes. - They are always serious and never have fun. But that's not true! Being a director is much more than making movies. It's about: 1) Vision and Creativity: Directors bring stories to life with their unique vision. 2) Leadership: They guide actors and crew to create the desired atmosphere. 3) Problem Solving: Directors constantly solve challenges during filming. 4) Collaboration: They work closely with writers, producers, and editors. 5) Passion: Directing demands relentless dedication and love for storytelling. Being a director means long hours, stress, and tough decisions. It requires understanding the technical aspects of filmmaking and managing diverse personalities. Despite the glitz, directors often face financial risks and handle criticism and rejection. Directing is a complex role that blends artistry with practicality. It's about inspiring others, making tough choices, and turning dreams into reality on screen. When I think about the directors I’ve worked with—or even the moments I’ve stepped into that role myself—one thing stands out: directing is an art and a balancing act. It’s not just about getting the perfect shot or calling the right cues; it’s about leading a team, making quick decisions, and staying true to the story through all the chaos that a set can throw your way. Here are a few key practices I’ve found essential for a director’s success: A Clear Vision with Flexibility A director must know what story they want to tell—but things rarely go exactly as planned. The magic lies in adapting on the fly while staying true to the core idea. Some of the best moments I’ve witnessed on set weren’t in the script—they happened because the director had a vision but allowed room for spontaneity. Collaboration is Everything No matter how brilliant the director, a film is never a one-person show. Working closely with actors, DPs, and designers creates something greater than the sum of its parts. I’ve seen how building trust within a team can elevate the entire production—and it starts with a director who listens. Leadership Under Pressure Things will go wrong on set—props won’t show up, actors will struggle with lines, weather will take a turn. Great directors lead by staying calm and focused, turning challenges into creative opportunities. It’s in these moments that true leadership shines. Details, Details, Details From the color of a costume to the angle of a shot, details matter. A director with an eye for the little things brings nuance and depth to a film that resonates with the audience. Those small touches? They add up to something extraordinary on screen. At the heart of it all, directing is about telling a story that feels authentic—and doing it in a way that keeps the journey as meaningful as the final product. For me, it’s one of the most rewarding roles in the creative process, despite the challenges. #Directing #Leadership #CreativeProcess #Film #FilmmakingJourney #Collaboration #FilmIndustry #Storytelling #Direction #Production #MHarisAnsari #LinkedIn

Ad-filmmaking is such an intricate job, that no one person can take credit for its success! Same way, when it comes to ‘Producers’ too, no one person can do all the jobs. There are multiple types of Producers required to see it through. From managing the project with the attention-to-details to getting the final output ready, it is segregated amidst multiple heads! Each type of producer brings their unique expertise and skill set to the table. I have been lucky to have worked with several talented producers, and I have seen it first-hand the kind of dedication it requires. Are you a Producer? Let me know your views on the same too. Also don’t forget to tag your ‘Producer’ friend/colleague in the comment section! #Producers #FilmProduction #AdFilmProduction #AdFilmmakers #AdFilms
