Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant at P448, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records. Candidate will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, support month-end closing processes, and assist with various accounting tasks to help maintain the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting preferably with a background in the Retail industry.

This is a Hybrid Position and the Ideal Candidate must reside in New York and be willing to go to our office 3 times a week during those days they will receive and process the mails, handle other duties. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Salary amount will be based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, Candidate will ensure financial data is recorded timely and accurately.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of cash transactions and balances.
• Inventory Accounting: Track and maintain inventory costs, assist in inventory valuation, and help ensure the accurate recording of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Sales Reporting: Track and report on daily sales activities, ensuring the accuracy of revenue records. Analyze sales trends and assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
• Expense Reporting: Ensure proper documentation and approval of employee expenses, including travel and entertainment.
• Audit Support: Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting information for auditors.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting tasks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales and management, to support financial operations and ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail sectors.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with accounting software NetSuite or similar.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, multi-tasker and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of inventory and cost accounting is highly preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
