Summary Of Position
The Server Attendant/Busser for The Maybourne Beverly Hills performs various duties to support the Server in delivering 5-Star luxury dining experience to guests while following hotel’s standards and ensuring guest satisfaction. In this role, you would be responsible for providing quality service by interacting with guests in a positive and friendly manner and assist with: fulfilling requests, taking feedback, clearing and preparing table set-ups, polishing silverware and glassware, cleaning all spills, and broken glassware/dishes immediately, complete opening/closing side duties as directed, upholding our food health safety and sanitation principles, occasionally checking on guests to handle impromptu requests/issues, and handle guest complains and inform management immediately of any concerns that may arise.
Roles And Responsibilities
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment and proper use as intended.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and with a sense of urgency to the satisfaction of the guest.
Always maintain positive guest relations.
Maintain knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations.
Complete opening side duties:
Polish silverware and glassware, ensuring that all pieces are spotless and blemish-free.
Set up tabletop in accordance with departmental specifications.
Check and replenish side stations in accordance with departmental specifications.
Wipe and clean all food and beverage trays.
Assist servers with any necessary tasks.
Prepare water stations for service in accordance with departmental specifications and business levels.
Check and replenish tea and coffee stations, making sure product stock is appropriate for service and sugar caddies are clean, full and organized.
Check station assignments and complete work to be done.
Transport supplies from storeroom to restaurant as assigned.
Set up trash receptacles and breakdown area following departmental specifications.
Stock condiments and supplies as laid down in departmental standards.
Set up bread station as laid down in departmental standards.
Prepare beverage stations as assigned as laid down in departmental standards.
Retrieve clean linen from Laundry and stock in restaurants.
Fold napkins as required.
Stock and polish all side station ware to the stated levels required for business.
Attend daily meetings with service team and management prior to start of shift.
Serve water to all guests in accordance with departmental specifications.
Serve bread and butter in accordance with departmental specifications.
Serve coffee, tea and other designated non-alcoholic beverages following established service procedures.
Remove soiled wares and other items from tables as assigned.
Transport tray from restaurant to breakdown area; separate wares and food according to procedures.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables.
Place additional utensils and wares on tables as directed.
Refill non-alcoholic beverages according to procedures.
Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction to Maybourne standards.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas following procedures laid down in departmental manual.
Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs in accordance with department procedures.
Replenish wares inside stations throughout shift.
Clean coffee machine, iced tea machine, and other beverage equipment as assigned to the established standards. Bring all water bottles to stewarding for cleaning and sterilization.
Complete closing duties as assigned:
Polish silverware and glassware, ensuring that all pieces are spotless and blemish-free.
Deliver food and beverage trays to stewarding for cleaning and sterilization.
Check side stations and replenish to par levels in accordance with departmental specifications.
Move furniture into proper storage locations.
Safely store all reusable goods.
Breakdown all food stations.
Breakdown all beverage stations.
Restock items for the next service.
Transport all dirty linen to Laundry.
Secure all supplies at shift end.
Leave duty after reporting to supervisor.
Must be flexible with schedule – Ability to work split shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Sign the tip sheet report at the end of assigned shift. – not sure if this is something, we will do
Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow employees.
Perform all other duties as and when assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications
Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment demonstrating patience and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Great active listening skills.
Exceptional organization and time management.
A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with other bussers, cooks, and staff.
Knowledge of food service regulation and proper food and alcohol handling procedures.
Willing to work flexible schedules that include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to problem solve and recover service misses.
Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
High school diploma.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
Experience in a luxury environment is a plus.
Experience in 5 stars Forbes restaurant is a plus
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will use hands to handle objects and tools and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40-pound objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may use vision to monitor food quality and quantity and may also order supplies, etc. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate China and barware
Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.
Job requires indoor and outdoor service in fluctuating weather
