Job Description
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the strategic direction of the Director, of Human Resources, the Deputy Director will assist with oversight and execution of HR strategic initiates relating to Workforce Planning and Development, Talent Acquisition and Management, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement and Retention, and HR Operations.
General Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include
Support facility leaders in moving along human resources activities related to recruitment, onboarding, employee development, employee recognition, performance evaluation, workforce development, and other functions.
Works directly with senior executives and management teams, under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, to lead, manage, influence, and shape organizational change.
Consult with and advise the facilities’ leadership on HR-related matters, including policies and procedures.
Under collaboration with the HR Director, partners with the senior administrative team to System corporate goals with the facility's business goals.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
Provides input in human resources policies and procedures, management plans and programs; and is accountable for their communication and implementation.
May serve as a member of the local Joint Labor-Management Committee.
Ensures facility remains in compliance with all HR-related regulatory standards.
Works collaboratively with primary stakeholders to develop and implement best practices guidelines and protocols; maintains and shares key metrics that will be used to continually drive process improvements.
Assists in the prompt investigation and resolution of complaints.
Under the guidance of the HR Director, collaborates with Corporate Office Human Resources Division, Legal Affairs, Corporate Compliance, Labor Relations, Affirmative Action/EEO, Payroll Systems, Information Services, Department of Investigations, Conflict of Interest Board, Law Department, and facility Occupational Health Services Department.
Support the implementation of NYC Health + Hospitals’ Personnel Orders and Pay Authorizations issued by Central Office
Performs other related HR duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Health Care Specialization, Physical or Social Sciences or a related discipline; and five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, managerial and/or consultative experience; or
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above; and six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative, managerial and/or consultative experience; or
Satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in disciplines, as listed in “1” above.
