The Controller oversees a company's financial activities, managing the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. They are responsible for preparing budgets, managing financial reports, and advising management on financial matters. Controllers also oversee the accounting staff and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Oversight of Accounting Operations (accounting department – payable, receivable, and general ledger)

2. Financial reporting: preparing and reviewing all internal and external financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

3. Budgeting and forecasting: developing, managing, and monitoring budgets and forecasting future financial performance.

4. Compliance: ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations including tax laws and accounting standards

5. Manage all capital requests and budgeting processes.

6. Accounting Department: hire, train and supervise all accounting staff.

7. Financial Analysis: analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to management.

10. Implement operational best practices


Desired Qualifications: The candidate for controller should have a master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a mid-size company or division of a mid-size corporation. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
