Announcing Linked Dashboard Controls! Create one dashboard filter to have it filter as many underlying tables, joins, views, or graphs as you'd like. So if your dashboards pull from various tables, you can now have a single filter (including nested filters like 'city' within 'state') that updates all the questions shown on that dashboard. This makes building, maintaining, and using dashboards easier -- even if you've not pre-created a data model ahead of time. https://lnkd.in/gqakxvvC

You have data. You query it and come up with answers to questions. And then other people have questions and you help them answer them. And at some point, many people have many questions, and those answers (to the same questions don't match. That is my friend when you need a semantic layer. Most tools require you to start with one (Looker, Omni, ThoughtSpot) or don't rely on one at all and just let you query your tables but without the guardrails to ensure everyone is on the same page.
