⚡️ Nevada is playing a major role in the domestic EV and battery supply chain! From the Lithium Loop and battery manufacturing, to vehicle assembly and battery recycling, the entire supply chain is represented within the state. The ZETA Education Fund recently went to Nevada to discuss how the industry is growing and how it is benefiting the local community. We were excited to speak with local leaders, including Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Jeff Thompson from the University of Nevada, Reno; Drew McGregor from the Nevada Mining Association; U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei (NV-02); Panasonic Energy of North America President Allan Swan; Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce CEO Ann Silver; Nicole Kelleher from Nevada Governor's Office of Energy; JB Straubel CEO and Founder of Redwood Materials; and Dr. Jeffrey Alexander, of Truckee Meadows Community College. #MadeInNV

⚡️ ZETA's Corey Cantor joined the Grid Connections podcast this week to discuss the latest on the EV and battery industry. Check it out ⬇️
🚗🔋 What if battery prices were the real unsung hero of the #EV transition?🚗🔋 In our latest #podcast, we sat down with Corey Cantor, Research Director at the Zero Emission Transportation Association, to dive deep into what the data actually says about the future of electric vehicles: ✅ Why EV adoption is still growing — even as the broader #auto market slows. ✅ How proximity and visibility of public chargers directly influence EV buying decisions. ✅ What the 30D and 45X tax credits mean for U.S. manufacturing and jobs. ✅ The $190B+ invested into the U.S. EV supply chain since 2020. ✅ And how falling battery prices are quietly reshaping everything from passenger cars to school buses. If you care about the future of transportation, clean energy, or industrial competitiveness in the U.S., this episode is a must-listen! 🎧 Link to the full episode in the comments 📰 Subscribe to our newsletter → https://lnkd.in/gm43yEq6 💼 Explore Grid Connections Consulting → https://gridconnections.co #EVs #ElectricVehicles #BatteryTechnology #CleanEnergy #EVCharging #EVInfrastructure #EnergyPolicy #GridConnections #ZETA #Electrification #EVTransition #AutoIndustry

Important context from ZETA's Executive Director in this story from The Nevada Independent: ZETA Executive Director Albert Gore III has been making the case that to compete with China, which isn’t a market-based economy, deployment credits with demand signals are a critical tool. To “wean” the U.S. off of Chinese products, he said, “what better way to ensure that the domestic industry can scale up to be competitive under any circumstances in the future than to pair the production credit with the deployment credit?” https://lnkd.in/gP2FBpKn

If you're from Nevada or know a Nevadan, you often hear the phrase "Home Means Nevada." But what does that really mean? Our recent event in #Reno, NV, reminded me of exactly that. Home means community. Home means families. Home means jobs. Home means fighting for what you believe in, especially when it means a more resilient, domestic energy sector. We heard from mayors, CEOs, utilities, state and federal representatives zeroing in on the same message: the #EV market is making new opportunities for residents all across the state. These investments are creating new pathways for Nevadans to prosper and define what "home" looks like to them. #MadeinNV Thank you to our participating companies Panasonic North America, Redwood Materials, Ioneer Ltd., and Lithium Americas Corp. An appreciative shoutout to all those who made this event possible: Chris Reilly, Carli Smith, Ryan Bellows, Ann Silver, Alexis Georgeson, Tina Jeffress, Joshua Freeman, Tim Crowley, Kelly Riddle, Jed Dearborn.
⚡️ Last week, the ZETA Education Fund hosted a two-day event in Reno, Nevada highlighting the significant industry investments that are creating jobs and economic opportunity in the region. We were excited to welcome federal, state, and local stakeholders to celebrate Nevada’s role as a leader in the EV and battery supply chain. The event included tours of Panasonic Energy of North America, Redwood Materials, and the Lithium Americas Corp. Technical Center, as well as a panel featuring Representative Mark Amodei (NV-02), Redwood Materials Founder and CEO JB Straubel, and Panasonic Energy of North America President Allan Swan, moderated by Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) Executive Director Thomas Burns. Special thanks to all our speakers and supporters, including: Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Jeff Thompson from the University of Nevada, Reno; Dr. Fred Steinmann, Daphne Hooper, Dr. Jim Faulds, Dr. Ehsan Vahidi from the University of Nevada, Reno, and Dr. Jeff Alexander from Truckee Meadows Community College; Dr. Vick Singh, COO, Dragonfly Energy Corporation; Lithium Americas’ Tim Crowley; Ioneer Ltd. Vice President of Corporate Development and External Affairs Chad Yeftich; Alexis Georgeson, VP Government Relations & Communications, Redwood Materials; Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce CEO Ann Silver; City of Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson; Ryan Bellows from NV Energy; Chris Reilly, State Infrastructure Coordinator from the Office of Governor Joe Lombardo; and Suzanne Groneman, Office of the City Manager, City of Reno.
