We hope you can join us on the occasion of the Dodge YMCA’s 20th Anniversary for a celebration rooted in legacy and elevated in spirit: The Dodge YMCA Sneaker Ball. Twenty years ago, a small but mighty group of community leaders, families, and supporters came together with a vision: to build a place where Brooklyn could grow stronger—together. Today, that vision lives on in every child who learns to swim, every neighbor who finds connection, and every family that calls the Dodge YMCA home. This special evening honors the early champions who made the Y’s presence in Downtown Brooklyn possible, and the many supporters—like you—who’ve carried that mission forward. Come dressed in your freshest attire and boldest sneakers as we toast to two decades of impact, community, and collective action. Together, we’ll mark the past, celebrate the present, and ignite support for the future. DODGE YMCA SNEAKER BALL Tuesday, May 13, 2025 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM 501 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY RSVP: https://lnkd.in/e6YrJySN

Advocacy season is officially underway in Albany and Y teens are joining us to help advocate for more support for NYC youth! Earlier this week, the YMCA of Greater New York took part in the Alliance of NYS YMCAs Albany Advocacy Day. A group of Y teen leaders from the Teens Take the City youth program joined us to share their Y stories and advocate for more support for young people. A special thank you to NYS Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, NYS Senator Toby Stavisky, and NYS Assembly Members Kaleel Anderson, Clyde Vanel, and John Zaccaro, Jr. who took the time to meet with us while we were there!

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On #MLKDay, Y teens from across the city took part in activities to help strengthen their communities and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Activities happened across all five boroughs and included food, toy and clothing drives, creating care packages for cancer patients, community clean-up, and so much more. We are so proud of our Y teens for dedicating their #MLKDay to giving back to their communities. Take a look at some of the highlights from yesterday’s food and clothing distribution held in Harlem.
