Gallup's latest data shows 61% of Americans now support nuclear energy—just one point below the record set in 2010. Why the shift? Big tech is leaning in. Companies like Amazon are turning to nuclear to meet the energy demands of AI and data centers, proving that clean, reliable baseload power is no longer optional—it’s essential. https://lnkd.in/edf_4NPS

Delivering the next generation of advanced nuclear energy technology.
About us
X-energy is delivering the next generation of carbon-free energy by reinventing nuclear power. We believe in leaving a cleaner planet for our children and grandchildren, while continuing to provide sufficient and affordable power to sustain growing populations around the world. That is why we have reinvented nuclear power, with a unique combination of proven technologies and new innovations, to meet our current and future needs. X-energy manufactures fuel that seals uranium particles in a protective coating, which makes meltdown impossible and retains the waste inside forever. We also design plants that unlock the fuel’s potential in a process that’s as clean as wind or solar. When combined, the result is reliable carbon-free baseload power, produced more safely and affordable than ever before and available anywhere, at any time.

Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced that TRISO-X, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-energy, has been allocated its first tranche of HALEU to meet near-term fuel needs to bring our advanced reactor technology to the market. The allocation is part of X-energy’s participation in DOE’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, and will be delivered in the first core loads of fuel in partnership with Dow Inc. at their UCC Seadrift Operations manufacturing site on the Texas Gulf Coast. TRISO-X will receive the material for fuel fabrication in the future at its pioneering Oak Ridge, Tennessee, fuel fabrication plant. https://lnkd.in/egZ8FQfm

Edward Stones, Business Vice President of Energy and Climate at Dow, shares his thoughts on the latest collaboration with X-energy—the construction permit application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for an exciting advanced nuclear project in Seadrift, Texas. "This is an important next step in expanding access to safe, clean, reliable, and cost-competitive nuclear energy in the U.S." The project will leverage X-energy’s Xe-100 SMR technology to provide clean power and steam to Dow’s Seadrift operations, replacing current energy sources. With the Seadrift site manufacturing over 4 billion pounds of materials annually — from food packaging to footwear — this initiative will help power critical operations. If all goes as planned, construction could begin later this decade, with the plant expected to start operations in the early 2030s.
