We were so thrilled to be able to attend the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium in DC. It was amazing to connect with providers in real life, hear more about their 'why,' and share ours. Building community and supporting mental health professionals is what we’re all about. A huge thank you to all the providers who stopped by to chat with us and reminded us why making mental healthcare more accessible matters so much.

Some days, managing anxiety feels like a full-time job. The mental checklists, racing thoughts, the constant effort to self-regulate... Next time you feel like anxiety is taking over your calendar try: 1. Grounding techniques like deep breathing or the 5-4-3-2-1 method 2. Journaling to externalize thoughts and reduce mental clutter 3. Movement, even just a short walk, to release built-up tension 4. Talking to a therapist for support and coping strategies If you’re looking for a therapist who gets it, check out the Alma directory to find a provider who fits your needs: https://lnkd.in/e4jE4Ek2

✨ The habits we don’t notice might be the ones holding us back. ✨ Alma’s VP of Clinical Operations, Elisabeth Morray, PhD, recently spoke with SELF Magazine about subtle mental health habits that can have a big impact, like constantly living in our heads or using negative reinforcement as motivation. As Dr. Morray explains, “Focusing on the past is connected to depression, and focusing on the future is connected to anxiety.” This article breaks down six common habits that can quietly undermine our well-being—and what we can do about them. 📖 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gbrzKd6w Which of these habits resonates most with you? Let’s discuss in the comments!

People who are blind or have low vision face unique mental health challenges, yet access to tailored therapeutic support remains limited. Alma Members — Read more below about an upcoming training focused on helping therapists better understand challenges, improve accessibility, and foster greater inclusivity in our mental health practices!
As the VP of Clinical at Alma, I am deeply invested in expanding access to high-quality mental health care for those who need it most. I’m thrilled to announce an upcoming training event for Alma members that holds immense significance for both the behavioral health field and the blind/low-vision community. In partnership with the Foundation Fighting Blindness, we’re offering a specialized training program designed to equip Alma therapists with the knowledge and skills to provide effective, compassionate services to individuals who are blind or have low vision—an often underserved population in the behavioral health sector. 🌟 Why this matters: People who are blind or have low vision face unique mental health challenges, yet access to tailored therapeutic support remains limited. This training will help therapists better understand these challenges, improve accessibility, and foster greater inclusivity in our mental health practices. Together, we can ensure that everyone, regardless of vision status, has access to the behavioral health support they deserve. I’m proud to be part of an initiative that advances inclusivity, knowledge, and empowerment for both providers and clients. Alma members can register for this two-part training below: Part 1: https://lnkd.in/exzGj6uA Part 2: https://lnkd.in/eFc437aD Let’s make a difference! 🌍💙 #Alma #BehavioralHealth #Therapists #InclusionMatters #BlindAndLowVision #MentalHealth #Training #FoundationFightingBlindness #Accessibility #TherapeuticServices #JoinTheMovement
