🎉I'm excited to announce that my bi-monthly column unpacking the findings of recently issued oversight reports was picked up by Thomson Reuters Westlaw! My inaugural article was published yesterday, which highlights GAO's annual report to Congress on the nation's fiscal health (spoiler alert: things aren't looking great). Meanwhile, the Administration is experimenting with a range of tools for driving its cost-cutting goals and policy agenda, including traditional and non-traditional forms of oversight. Whether this will put the nation on a sustainable path to fiscal health or not remains to be seen; in the short-term, though, the increase in oversight has serious implications for those who do business with or are regulated by the federal government. Check out the article for more on what those implications are and what companies can do to prepare for this increase in oversight. #Oversight #GAO #OIGs #DOGE https://lnkd.in/et99t8NC

In an interview with Scripps News, Tim Brightbill discussed the possible impacts of the Trump Administration’s “Liberation Day” reciprocal tariffs, including the economic implications of comprehensive tariffs over more targeted ones. “The disconnect is because in the first Trump administration, there were tariffs imposed on China in a more limited way, as well as steel and aluminum tariffs. And there is some evidence that if you impose sector specific or more targeted tariffs, you can do that without necessarily under cutting the financial markets and the economy. But for something broader based, it's very unclear,” said Tim. Watch the interview here: https://lnkd.in/ebPBEQft #Tariffs #TradePolicy #NationalSecurity #InternationalTrade
