Julie Xu , Sr Product Manager at Weave, on why AI needs to be experienced, not just explained: "While #AI has taken the world by storm, it's a technology that truly needs to be experienced to be understood. At Weave, we believe that interactive engagement with our AI-native workbench is critical for transforming how regulatory documents are prepared. Experiencing AI first-hand with products like #AutoIND demystifies the technology, bridging the gap between theory and practical application. One key aspect of working with AI, particularly large language models (LLMs), is understanding that they aren’t “push-button” systems that deliver perfect results instantly. Instead, LLMs are powerful tools that benefit from user input, iteration, and collaboration. The best outcomes come from refinement—users provide context, guide the system with instructions, and adapt outputs to their specific regulatory needs. This iterative approach enhances results and empowers users to leverage AI as a practical tool. Witnessing our users' “aha” moments is what drives us! With AutoIND, AI isn’t just theoretical or something to be feared; it becomes a collaborative partner that helps users achieve more with less effort in their regulatory document preparation. This direct engagement also provides us with invaluable real-world feedback to inform our future product development. In this new world with AI, experiential learning is more important than ever!" Weave Wednesday: A Product Perspective from ✟Wes Galliher, Ph.D. Put the Power In Your Users’ Hands When building #B2B software products, ensuring your customers can effortlessly use your product for their specific use case or challenge is critical. Without this connection to the product value proposition, customers will get frustrated as they try to fit the product into their workflows. In the #biopharma #regulatory space, there are many highly variable situations that products must accommodate. Different therapeutic modalities (e.g. small molecule drugs, gene therapies, or antibodies) each have unique requirements, and customer organizations themselves have different approaches, preferences, writing styles, and collaboration needs. ❔ How can products effectively address these different use cases without trying to build something for everybody? One approach is to build highly opinionated software that is form fit for a select few scenarios. Another involves building a functionality-laden product that includes every conceivable feature. The former approach risks excluding only those customers with the most common use cases, and the latter likely creates frustration as users wade through undesired features to find the ones they need. 💡 Here at Weave, we believe there’s a better way: incorporate features into your product that create flexibility without distraction. Instead of assuming what your customers want & need, give them a generalizable toolkit that empowers them to accomplish a variety of scenario-specific tasks with your product. Let us know when you are ready to see how this belief translates into tangible value! info@weave.bio
