The Advancing GETs Act is reintroduced! It would create a US-specific version of incentives that accelerated grid modernization in the UK and Australia. America deserves an optimized grid. “Consumers deserve lower electric bills and a more reliable electric grid. The UPNY-SENY interface needed 185 MW of additional transfer capacity to meet growing demand and integrate new renewables. Central Hudson initially considered a Fixed Series Capacitor—but chose advanced power flow control with SmartValve for greater system flexibility, dynamic services, and a 25% smaller footprint. The deployment of 15 SmartValves at 345 kV enables real-time power flow control on the Leeds-Hurley circuit, unlocking transfer capacity by pulling power onto the underutilized path. Participant Pat Wood, III, CEO of Hunt Energy Network and former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission appointed by President George W. Bush in 2001, reflected on the report: “President Trump has been clear that he wants American #energy to be the foundation for our economic growth. Our group’s proposals are practical solutions to make that vision a reality.
